Responsibilities

  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly LNG production plans aligned with feed gas supply, LNG storage and shipping.
  • Optimize LNG output to reduce flaring and energy use.
  • Track and report production losses, downtime, and operational derates.
  • Maintain Loss Accounting System (LAS) and report revenue impacts to accounting.
  • Develop site-wide energy balances and monitor energy KPIs.
  • Identify efficiency improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare production forecasts and validate against custody transfer data.
  • Submit monthly and quarterly reports to accounting and leadership.
  • Coordinate with control room, field ops, shipping, and maintenance planning.
  • Adjust schedules during equipment restrictions, weather, and supply changes.
  • Assist in the development of production budgets and targets
  • Develop and update procedures and startup/shutdown plans.
  • Track the facility Chemical and Refrigerant requirements, by utilizing appropriate measures and tools to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the facility.

The Production Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring safe, reliable, and optimized LNG production at the facility. This position is responsible for developing and managing short‑and long‑term production schedules that balance feed gas availability, equipment capabilities, storage limits, and commercial commitments. By analyzing plant performance and collaborating closely with operations, maintenance, process engineering, and commercial teams, the engineer helps maximize throughput while minimizing flaring, energy consumption, and operational losses.

Education

Experience
  • Required: Typically requires 3 years LNG Production Engineer or related experience.

  • Able to work with a culturally diverse group of technical individuals whose skills cover the range required to operate and maintain the operations of the Port Arthur Liquefaction facility.
  • Possess the ability to relate to and to establish a mutually respectful relationship with management, peers and the various facility level workers who are all responsible for ensuring operational excellence.
  • Organized, planning skills, able to manage multiple activities and programs in timely fashion and with a high degree of accuracy, able to meet work deadlines.

  • General knowledge of computer applications like PiVision, DCS systems, SCADA and ability to work with automated applications.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple activities and programs timely and with a high degree of accuracy.
