Job summary

MetalX LLC in Auburn, Indiana is seeking a Production Employee to join our shredding operation. The role starts on 1st shift (Mon–Fri) with plans to move to a weekend schedule; 3:00 AM–3:00 PM, 36 hours paid for 40.

You will feed material into choppers and shredders, sort metals, and help maintain a safe, organized site. Ideal candidates sort grades of materials, handle inventories, and operate equipment safely with PPE.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of non-ferrous and ferrous metals.
• Ability to sort materials by hand or using hand tools.
• Ability to shovel materials.
• Ability to work independently in the absence of direct supervision.
• Forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recognize and organize different grades of materials appropriately.
• Feed material into the chopper or shredder.
• Take inventory, maintain and organize material storage area and ensure area is always secure.
• Maintain a clean working environment.
• Operate mobile equipment safely and efficiently, as required.
• Perform daily preventative maintenance on mobile equipment, as required.
• Follow dress code and ensure proper PPE is worn at all times.

MetalX is expanding our shredding operations to 7 days a week, and we're looking for a Production Employee to join our team in Auburn, Indiana!

This position will initially work 1st Shift, Monday–Friday, with plans to transition to an exciting new weekend schedule in the near future!

• Work Friday–Sunday – Just 3 Days a Week!

The Production Employee will efficiently feed material into specified choppers and shredders, extract metals from the wire materials, and assemble the correct packaging while maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
