Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an experienced manufacturing professional in New Orleans, LA, to perform cable fabrication, electrical panel assembly, wiring, and soldering. The role requires reading engineering drawings and following instructions, with emphasis on safety and quality.

You will also maintain documentation and use basic hand tools in a dynamic environment. The position is full-time with an opportunity to grow within Textron Systems’ Marine & Land Systems portfolio, including routine

• 1-3 years of related experience.
• Ability to read blueprints, shop orders, sketches, and drawings.
• Must be able to perform basic shop mathematics.
• Willingness to work extended hours as needed to accomplish tasks.
• General understanding of metric measuring system.
• Naval craft experience is a plus.
• Level determined based on relevant experience and scope of role.

• Cable fabrication, electrical panel assembly, wire stripping, electrical schematics layouts, hook-ups, and soldering.
• Cable pulling and grooming raceways.
• Work from Engineering drawings, sketches, blueprints, schematics and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Maintain records, forms, and logs as required.
• Perform job duties with basic hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire cutters, drill motors, sanding and grinding tools, etc.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management

About This Role

We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMAND REQUIREMENTS:

Physical demands described have been validated by on-site job analysis. Dexterity: Must have a good dexterity and frequently use one and two hands throughout the work period for tasks involving fingering, gripping and manipulation.

Cardiorespiratory Demand: Must have sufficient cardiorespiratory fitness to be able to perform medium work involving heavy lifting. Must be able to safely tolerate medium demands on the cardiorespiratory system in various temperature ranges and humidity.

General Physical Activities: Include standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, speaking clearly, seeing distant/reading, reaching, hearing, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs and balancing.

Physical Demand Level - Medium: Must be able to perform medium physical labor as classified by the United States Department of Labor. Physical demands typically involve lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling not to exceed 60 lbs.
