Job summary

Michael James Construction, Inc. is seeking a CAD/Design Engineer to assist in the design, development and improvement of HVAC products. You will create 3D models and manufacturing drawings in SolidWorks, prepare sales drawings and ensure data accuracy in the ERP system.

The role requires strong CAD skills, attention to detail and the ability to work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams. Experience with SolidWorks PDM and a low-volume, high-mix environment is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Check models, drawings and bills of materials for accuracy and consistency before submitting for review.
• Maintain CAD files and revisions using SolidWorks PDM and follow established review procedures.
• Work with other engineers and designers in the design and optimization of products.
• Work with manufacturing on the shop floor to resolve design issues.

SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting in the design, development and improvement of new and existing HVAC products. Responsibilities include preparing sales drawings, designing units and manufacturing drawings, and entering required part and project information into the ERP system. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
