The role requires strong leadership, ERP/MRP experience, and the ability to navigate a dynamic environment with cross-functional partners to meet customer demands and business objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, or related field (required).
  • Minimum 5 years in production control, supply chain, or manufacturing operations (preferred).
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems (preferred).
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate materials planning and production scheduling with cross-functional teams.
  • Manage PC&L budget tracking and monthly forecast updates.
  • Oversee inventory control, planning, and distribution to meet goals.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels, minimize holding costs, obsolescence and expediting expenses.
  • Lead cross-functional monthly SO&P meetings; validate customer demand, inventory targets, supplier constraints, line capacity, headcount, overtime, etc.

Job description

Production Control Manager

The Production Control Manager will lead the coordination of materials and production planning while managing a team of professionals and working closely with manufacturing, procurement, and customer-facing teams to ensure operational success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Adhere to Astemo's Safety Policy and practices and report / correct any potential unsafe condition or concern to the Safety department
  • Ensure proper safety practices are in place and enforced.
  • Manage budget tracking and monthly forecast updates for PC&L.
  • Oversee all materials management functions, including planning, inventory control, and distribution, to support production goals and customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain optimal inventory levels to meet demand while minimizing holding costs, obsolescence, and expedited shipping expenses.
  • Manage and improve inventory processes, including physical inventory, cycle counting, and year-end valuation.
  • Coordinate model year phase-outs and manage obsolescence and termination claims as required.
  • Lead and perform cross-functional monthly meeting, SO&P process validating Customer demand, Inventory target, Supplier Constraints, Line Capacity, Head Count planning, Over time and others.
  • Lead and communicate weekly MPS process and alignment with SO&P.
  • Direct Daily production planning and scheduling to align with sales forecasts and ensure efficient use of labor and equipment.
  • Monitor and resolve schedule deviations.
  • Maintain clear and proactive communication with MP & Service customers regarding order releases and delivery expectations.
  • Investigate and resolve material shortages or supply chain disruptions.
  • Responsible for shipment containment, delivery control, and cross-functional coordination in the event of quality abnormalities or nonconforming products.
  • Develop and maintain OES reporting systems related to inventory, production, and materials functions.
  • Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, including proper storage of inbound and outbound materials and finished goods.
  • Ensure all departmental procedures align with company policies and best practices.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the PC&L team, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and professional growth.
Required Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field (required)
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in production control, supply chain, or manufacturing operations (preferred)
  • Skills & Abilities: Strong leadership, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in production planning, inventory control, and materials management systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to problem-solve, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing demands
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems (preferred)
  • Demonstrated professionalism, ethics, and ability to lead cross-functional teams
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position supervises the PC&L Management Team.

Working Conditions

Physical Demands: Light to moderate physical activity Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Regular movement throughout the office and manufacturing floor Extended periods of sitting or standing required.

Travel

Up to 10% domestic and international travel may be required.

Work Environment

Office setting with regular exposure to manufacturing environments Must adhere to safety protocols including use of personal protective equipment when required.
