This role is accountable for driving production discipline across change, release, incident, problem, configuration, and continuity management, while reducing manual change risk and improving operational resilience. The role emphasizes centralized governance, automation, measurable service reliability, and strict production control standards to ensure production changes are intentional, traceable, tested, reversible, and aligned to business continuity and resilience requirements. The Lead will drive consistent production operations across infrastructure, applications, and data platforms; strengthen separation of duties; reduce outage and incident risk; and provide auditable evidence of production controls for management, audit, and regulatory review.

Responsibilities
  • Centralized Production Governance and Release Orchestration
    • Lead a centralized production management function driving control adherence, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
    • Enhance and enforce enterprise production standards (change, release, incident, problem, configuration, continuity).
    • Standardize processes across infrastructure, applications, and data platforms.
    • Establish governance cadence with metrics, accountability, and exception reporting.
    • Centralize and control all production changes with full traceability, auditability, and risk‑based approvals.
    • Govern centralized release orchestration across technology domains.
    • Oversee standardized, automated deployment processes integrated with CI/CD.
    • Improve deployment consistency, reduce risk, and automate release artifacts and documentation.
  • Production Reliability & Observability
    • Partner with reliability and platform engineering to enhance standardized monitoring, alerting, and service health reporting.
    • Improve visibility through metrics, dashboards, and executive reporting.
  • Incident, Problem & Root Cause Management
    • Govern disciplined incident and problem management practices.
    • Lead root cause analysis and mandatory postmortems for material incidents.
    • Track remediation actions and reduce repeat issues through trend analysis.
    • Integrate learnings into controls, testing, and release processes.
    • Govern enterprise CMDB strategy and governance to ensure accurate tracking of assets, dependencies, and configurations.
    • Enhance traceability across changes, incidents, and systems.
  • Pre‑Deployment Control Readiness & Production Resilience
    • Evolve production readiness criteria including testing, security, and validation.
    • Govern release readiness reviews (architecture, resilience, support, recovery).
    • Require defined rollback plans, runbooks, and recovery strategies.
    • Embed controls pre‑deployment to improve release quality.
    • Partner across teams to maintain strong control environments.
    • Enhance production continuity aligned with DR and resilience requirements.
    • Govern recovery plans, failover strategies, and testing are in place.
    • Strengthen operational resilience and recovery readiness across services.
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of strong engineering and operational leadership fundamentals across systems, applications, infrastructure, and cloud platforms.
  • Deep experience in production operations, change management, release management, incident management, and problem management in complex enterprise environments.
  • Expertise in building controlled, automated, and auditable production management practices across applications, infrastructure, and data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of service reliability disciplines, including SLOs, SLIs, observability, incident response, recovery planning, and operational performance management.
  • Experience designing and enforcing production controls in regulated environments with strong audit, compliance, and traceability expectations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of CMDB governance, configuration management, asset integrity, and dependency mapping.
  • Experience integrating production governance with CI/CD, infrastructure‑as‑code, cloud‑native operations, and modern release pipelines.
  • Familiarity with continuity, disaster recovery, and operational resilience practices, including recovery planning, failover readiness, and resilience testing.
  • Experience with ITSM and control frameworks such as ITIL, COBIT, NIST, and related control, risk, and governance models.
  • Strong ability to drive cross‑functional execution across technology operations, engineering, security, platform, data, and business stakeholders.
  • Experience in financial services or similarly regulated environments preferred.
Skills
  • Strong command of production management disciplines, including change, release, incident, problem, configuration, and continuity management.
  • Ability to establish measurable production control frameworks using SLOs, SLIs, KPIs, thresholds, and operational scorecards.
  • Proficiency in workflow automation, release governance, CI/CD integration, and control evidence generation.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITSM platforms, CMDB capabilities, release tooling, and enterprise production‑support processes.
  • Hands‑on understanding of observability, monitoring, alerting, service health measurement, and incident‑response coordination.
  • Ability to design and enforce segregation of duties and governance controls across modern engineering and operations workflows.
  • Strong documentation, process design, and operational governance skills with emphasis on auditability and regulatory defensibility.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis capability.
