Job summary

Vestis Corporation operates a large industrial laundry facility. This role performs handling of merchandise, folding linens, and organizing bundles while ensuring safety and accuracy in processing.

Responsibilities include staging carts, verifying quantities, and segregating items that do not meet quality standards. The position works with a team in a warehouse setting and may require weekend shifts.

• Verifies merchandise quantity and bundles by type; places bundles in correct storage bins or carts.
• Maneuvers full and empty baskets; maintains a safe, clean work environment; observes safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview

Performs work as part of a team in an industrial laundry facility. Responsible for the safe, expeditious, and accurate handling of merchandise into and/or out of the laundry facility.

Responsibilities/Essential Functions

Essential duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: Stages cart in lift table, secures safety chain, and raises the table; Folds linen, aprons, towels, table napkins, and/or fender/seat covers; Identifies and segregates merchandise not meeting specified quality standards in terms of rips, tears, holes, and stains; Accurately verifies merchandise quantity and bundles by type. Places bundles in correct storage bins, carts, or on shelves; Maneuvers full and empty baskets; maintains a safe and clean work environment, and observes best practices in all production activities; Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions Work is performed in a warehouse setting and regularly exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat and cold conditions as well as dust and noise. Work is based on a shift schedule and may include weekends. Overtime required as needed. Must speak and understand English to communicate with Supervisor and others.

Benefits

Vestis offers a wide array of comprehensive benefit programs and services including medical, dental, vision, and pension. Employees are eligible for 40 hours of vacation and 8 hours of floating holiday after their first year of employment, and 1 hour paid sick time for every 30 hours worked with a maximum of 6 days in a calendar year. Employees will also receive 6 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.

Compensation

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $21.76, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors.
