Job summary

vincitgroup in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a Powder Filler to fill packaging with pre-blended powdered chemicals, correctly label materials, and load finished goods onto outbound trucks.

Responsibilities include wearing PPE, operating a forklift or pallet jack, labeling items per regulations, weighing and sealing packaging, and maintaining a safe, clean work area. A high school diploma or GED and 1 year in an industrial setting are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in an industrial environment required.
• Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the US.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to represent the company positively to customers and associates.

Responsibilities

• Wear mandatory PPE at all times.
• Use forklift or pallet jack to retrieve packaging items for the batch.
• Label packaging items in compliance with company and DOT requirements.
• Fill and seal packaging items in compliance with company, DOT and OSHA requirements.
• Measure or weigh chemicals into designated containers.
• Scan packaging items into designated areas and load trucks as necessary.
• Complete batch tickets and manufacturing logs per company requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean and dry work area at all times.
• Complete other duties and special projects as requested.

JOB SUMMARY:

The powder filler is responsible for filling appropriate packaging with pre-blended powdered chemicals (which can be hazardous in nature), correctly labeling material and then loading finished goods onto outbound trucks.

EDUCATION:

Required: High school diploma or GED

EXPERIENCE:

• Required: 1 year experience in an industrial environment
• Preferred: 2+ years in a chemical production environment

POSITION REQUIREMENT(S): Specialized Skills/License/Certification

Required:

• Unrestricted employment authorization to work in the US
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Project a professional appearance with the ability to represent our company in a positive manner to our customers and associates
• Ability to handle changing priorities and use good judgment in stressful situations
• Ability to organize and maintain a safe and clean work environment
