Job summary

Bravida Medical in Geneva, IL is seeking a Plating Process Technician to join the plating team. The role focuses on setup, operation, documentation, calibration and maintenance of medical device manufacturing equipment, mainly on the silver-plating line.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and, while not required, 2 years of experience in a regulated environment is preferred. On-site work Monday through Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm, with safety PPE and OSHA standards.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED equivalent or at least 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of work experience in a QMS regulated industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, maintain and document manufacturing, maintenance and calibration activities associated with medical device manufacturing equipment including: reverse osmosis system, sensitizing system, metallizing equipment, washer/dryer machines, wastewater treatment & facility/building equipment.
  • Compliance with OSHA regulations including PPE and ability to pass a seal fit test with an OSHA compliant full-face respirator.
  • Maintain compliance with local and federal ordinances with regard to waste sampling, disposal and reporting.
  • Acquire a Class K wastewater pretreatment operator’s license; training will be provided.
  • Perform simple mathematics and document objective process evidence in English.
  • Provide input on process improvements with regard to safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Participate in safety and compliance training as directed.
  • Assist with FAT/SAT, commissioning and validation when necessary.

Production Associate - Plating Process Technician

Salary Range: $20.00 To $25.00 Hourly

TITLE: Plating Process Technician

LOCATION: Geneva, IL

SHIFT & HOURS: Monday- Friday 6am - 2:30pm

Hiring Hourly Rate: $20 - $25/hr

POSITION SUMMARY:

Bravida Medical is hiring a Plating Process Technician to participate in the setup, operation, documentation, calibration and maintenance/repair of manufacturing processes performed throughout Bravida Medical. The position will be primarily focused on the silver-plating production line but will include the operation of existing and newly acquired processes or equipment. This position will also involve the handling of hazardous chemicals which will include donning of chemical resistant personal protection equipment (PPE). This position works closely with the other members of the plating team, Production Management, Engineering and the Quality & Regulatory Affairs groups in support of the directives established by the organization.

  • Setup, operate, maintain and document manufacturing, maintenance and calibration activities associated with medical device manufacturing equipment including: reverse osmosis system, sensitizing system, metallizing equipment, commercial washer/dryer machines, wastewater treatment & facility/building equipment (HVAC systems, compressors, lighting, emergency equipment).
  • Compliance with OSHA regulations with regard to personal protective equipment including ability to pass a seal fit test with an OSHA compliant full-face respirator.
  • Maintain compliance with local and federal ordinances with regard to waste sampling, disposal and reporting.
  • Ability to acquire a Class K wastewater pretreatment operator’s license. Training and testing will be provided.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) and document objective process evidence in English.
  • Provide input on process improvements with regard to safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Participate in related safety and compliance (QMS) training as directed by department management.
  • Assist with equipment factory/site acceptance testing (FAT/SAT), commissioning and validation when necessary.

Qualified candidates will have:

Experience

  • None required but 2-years of work experience in a QMS regulated industry is preferred.
  • Successful track record working in a matrix/collaborative environment if applicable.

Education

  • High school diploma, GED equivalent or at least 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Travel

Workdays are expected to be 100% on site at the Geneva campus comprised of multiple buildings.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

The primary work environments will be in a typical production, warehouse, and/or office areas on the Geneva campus. Most areas are temperature controlled.

While performing the duties mentioned herein, employees will be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and equipment, fumes, and/or airborne particulate such as nuisance dust.

The employee will frequently be required to work in controlled environments where gowns, hairnets, and beard and shoe covers will be provided and must be worn.

The employee may occasionally work in areas with hazardous (flammable, acidic, or caustic chemicals), vibrations, and/or loud noises where eye, ear, or other personal protection must be worn. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided (at no cost to the employee) in any area requiring mitigation or protection.

The employee must occasionally lift and carry for limited distances, up to 50 pounds using both arms/hands. Ability to see clearly at distances of 12-18” is required and may necessitate the use of corrective lenses. Typical physical functions such as sitting, standing, using of hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms under load, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be required.
