Production Associate - Piping Tool Machine Operator

PRODUCTION ASSOCIATE As a Production Associate, you will assist Metalworks with a variety of tasks supporting production operations. This position is responsible for performing all duties as outlined in the UA Local 411 Metal Trades Agreement. Machine operators in this role will be responsible for operating equipment that may include a Flanging Tool, Tee Puller, and/or Industrial Bandsaw. Candidates must possess basic computer skills and be able to accurately enter and manage operational data required for machine setup and use. Principal Duties and Accountabilities: CLASS III

  • Material handling, assembly, and packaging of completed manufactured products.
  • Rigging, hoisting, and operation of equipment in the movement of manufactured products.
  • All duties assigned by direct supervision including but not limited to general cleaning of the facility, grounds, equipment, and depending on the assignment could potentially include performing administrative support to the leadership team in an office environment.

CLASS II
  • Distribution of equipment tools and supplies to aid in the production process. Including the logistical management of incoming and outgoing materials as it is processed on the production floor.
  • Quality control and quality assurance of manufactured products.
CLASS I
  • Maintenance of plant facilities, equipment, and tools – Head Maintenance Man.
  • Execution of assigned steps in the manufacturing and fabrication process. Including the operation of cutting, beveling, grooving, and threading tools in the preparations of piping products and assemblies.
Education:
  • High School diploma or equivalent level of education is required.
Experience:
  • Forklift and overhead hoist operation experience is a plus.
Knowledge, skills and abilities:
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing operations is a plus.
  • Handles basic issues and problems and refers more complex issues to higher-level staff.
  • Basic knowledge of a manufacturing environment.
  • Understanding of basic mathematics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Basic knowledge of a wide range of fabrication materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to speak clearly and exercise good judgment.
Physical and/or travel demands:
  • Job is performed in a combination of settings, including the production floor, as well as in the office.
  • Physical demands include walking on uneven surfaces, climbing ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting, etc.
Benefits and Compensation:
  • The hourly range for this position has been established at $22.62 to $27.54 per hour and is US Engineering Metalwork’s good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of the posting. The compensation offered to the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, education, specialty and training.

Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.
