Job summary

Ravago Americas is seeking a production operator in Coldwater, Ohio to safely operate guillotine controls, cut materials to specified sizes, and ensure proper weighing and mixing according to the card. The role includes quality checks, cleanups during changeovers, and compliance with safety/environmental guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a High School diploma or equivalent and 1+ year of production experience; forklift license is preferred.

Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience in production is desired.
• Forklift license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate guillotine controls and cut material to specified sizes/weights.
• Check metal detector at start of shift and after lunch.
• Visually inspect material during cutting and stacking for contamination.
• Neatly stack cut material and use poly between layers to prevent sticking.
• Assist with cleanup during changeovers and shutdowns and keep area clean.

Job description

Objective / Purpose

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation and ensuring all materials are weighed properly and mixed according to card. Monitor the mixing of stock through various visual and control checks.

Areas of Responsibility / Tasks

Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below.

Essential Function

• Operate all guillotine controls.
• Cut material to specified sizes/weights and identify groups as outlined on mixing instructions.
• Check metal detector at beginning of each shift and after lunch period.
• Visually check all material while cutting and stacking for any contamination.
• Neatly stack cut material appropriately using poly between layers to prevent sticking.
• Stack waste skids according to size and stack cardboard neatly to go to cardboard baler.
• Check to ensure all containers are cleaned before using
• Check to ensure all old tickets and markings are removed from the containers before using.
• Assist in the timely and thorough cleanup during changeovers and shutdowns.
• Keep area and machinery clean.
• Inform Maintenance of any issues or concerns with equipment.
• Notify Team Leader of any problems or concerns.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) procedures must be followed.
• Safeguard company property.
• Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
• Uphold the RMA Code of Conduct standards and be aware of the management policy and objectives.
• Other duties as assigned by Team Leader/Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications / Education / Certifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Work Environment / Conditions

1. Must be comfortable working in a shared space, with constant noise, with/or without the use of a private office.
2. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
