Job summary

Lakeside Book Company in Harrisonburg, VA is hiring a Production Associate to move finished products from presses to distribution. No experience is required, and we provide comprehensive training with advancement opportunities.

We offer a 12-hour night shift from 6pm to 6am, with Mon-Tue, Fri-Sun and Wed-Thur schedules, and overtime as needed. Location includes two Harrisonburg addresses in VA.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry 20-50 pounds.
• Ability to stand for the duration of your shift.
• Experience with Microsoft Office (Excel).
• Machine experience preferred, but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret written work instructions.

Responsibilities

• Operate robots and stackers that collect sections of books from printing presses.
• Strap book sections together and place them on pallets.
• Enter information about the books into a computer, print labels, and palletize.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating equipment for safety.

Job description

We are looking for a Production Associate to join our team at Lakeside Book Company. As the largest bookmaker in the United States, you will help move the finished product out the door and into the hands of readers across the country. No experience necessary! We will provide you with all the training you need to be successful. Advancement opportunities are available!

Starting Rate: $19.36 (Base $17.60 + 10% Shift Differential)

Hours: 12-hour Night shift 6pm-6am: Mon-Tue, Fri-Sat-Sun, Wed-Thur; overtime as required

Location: 2347 Kratzer Rd; Harrisonburg, VA 22802 and 1025 Willow Springs Rd; Harrisonburg, VA 22801

As our Production Associate, you will:

• Operate robots and stackers that collect sections of books coming off ourprinting presses.
• Strap booksections togetherand places them onpallets.
• Enter information about the books coming off the press into a computer, print labels, and place on a pallet.
• Perform routine maintenance such as cleaning and lubricating the equipment to ensure a safe working environment for everyone.

Qualifications:

• Ability to lift and carry 20-50 pounds
• Ability to stand for the duration of your shift
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel)
• Consistent work experience
• Machine experience preferred, but not required
• Ability to read and interpret written work which indicates the number and sequence of machine operations required to complete the work and maintain dimensional accuracy in accordance with instructions provided
