Job summary

The ideal candidate will maintain a clean work area and ensure the quality of packaged goods. Job description

Objective

To package all finished fresh product efficiently meeting customer requirements.

Duties

• Package fresh product per customer specifications.
• Ensure that the quality of the product being packaged is not compromised.
• Maintain your work area clean and in order.
• Work as a team to meet daily production schedule.
• Notify team leader when equipment maintenance is required.
• Work in safe manner at all times to protect yourself and co-workers.
• Other jobs as assigned.

Working Conditions

Must be able to work in a fast paced environment.

Must have good eye coordination.

Must be able to bend, stoop, pull and lift up to 30 lbs.

Must be able to stand for long periods of time that vary from 8 to 12 hours.

Must be able to work in an area of 20° to 45 degrees.

Frequently requires lifting, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, smelling, listening, speaking, and seeing to perform the essential job duties.

Exposure to potentially dangerous machinery and equipment are present in the plant. Potential electrical, mechanical, and chemical, hazards are also present. The noise level is high and constant. Floors are damp and slick.

Work conditions vary, quitting time will vary based upon production needs, and flexibility is critical.

Knowledge

• Know metal detector policy and proper handling of product.
• To keep the packing equipment and work area in a safe and orderly manner.
• Know and understand how to keep area clean.
• Have basic understanding of GMP’s.
• Know and understand safety guidelines.

Education and Work Experience

High school education or equivalent preferred. Good manual dexterity and hand/eye coordination. Ability to communicate and work well with others in a team effort.
