Job summary

PPG Industries in Thomasville, NC is hiring a Production Associate, Extrusion Line Operator for the 1st shift (7:00am–3:30pm, Monday–Friday). Starting pay is $18.50 per hour, with opportunities to contribute to reliable production and quality output.

You will stack material, assist startups/shutdowns, perform visual quality checks, and support maintenance to keep extrusion lines running smoothly. English literacy and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English for training/safety purposes.
• Experience in a plant/manufacturing environment preferred.
• Ability to work an 8-hour shift and overtime as needed.
• Willingness to take on new assignments and adapt to shifts.

Responsibilities

• Stack material from line onto pallet.
• Maintain production equipment elements including start-up, operation, changeover, shutdown and preventative maintenance.
• Equipment may include extrusion line equipment, tools and dies.

As a Production Associate, Extrusion Line Operator, you will be a crucial part of our operations, ensuring that a quality product is available to our customers when they need them. Your work will directly affect people’s lives!

• Stack material from line onto pallet
• Maintaining production equipment elements like start-up, operation, changeover, shutdown and preventative maintenance.
• Equipment may include but is not limited to extrusion line equipment, tools and/or dies.
• Perform visual quality checks of materials and purge imperfections while stacking
• Obtain can samples (can/sheet) and present to Quality Control lab for testing
• Assist with start-ups and shutdowns on the extrusion line
• Assist wherever is needed and perform additional duties as assigned
