Job summary

Belcan Corporation in Deland, FL is seeking an Entry Level Production Associate for a 3-month assignment. The role operates on the 3rd shift, 9 pm to 7 am, with immediate start and a pay rate of $18.50 per hour.

Responsibilities include cross training on Fiber/Web equipment, maintaining data logs, and ensuring compliance with EHS and quality policies on the production floor. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Ability to read/write simple statements and perform basic math.

This position is offering a pay rate of $18.50/hr. however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Key responsibilities/essential functions:

• Include cross training and working on any Fiber/Web equipment as necessary to meet schedule, working with hazardous chemicals and preparing and maintaining accurate records, logs and collecting necessary data for use by Engineering.
• In addition, the production associate complies with EHS regulations and policies including wearing required PPE and follows all Quality policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is desired.
• Basic math skills and measuring skills.
• Accuracy with both calipers and micrometers.
• Attention to detail and quality-minded work habits.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate with co-workers and leadership.
• Ability to lift a maximum of 50 lbs., stand, sit, stoop, bend, walk, reach, squat, kneel, push, and pull for long periods.
• Must be able to read and write simple statements.
• Ability to make decisions and have sound judgment.
• Experience working with steel microfibers is desired.

Dress Code:

• This is a manufacturing facility and safety is our #1 priority.
• OSHA approved steel toe or composite toe shoes and long pants that cover ankles and legs are required.
• Safety glasses must be always worn on the production floor.
• Long pants include jeans, slacks, uniform pants, etc.
• Sweatpants, shorts, yoga pants, capris, etc., are not permitted.
• Shirt sleeves must cover the shoulders and may not have offensive wording or images.
• All clothing must be free from tears, including those designed with such.
• Shorts, miniskirts, dresses, cropped tops, halter tops, spaghetti straps and open-toed shoes are not permitted.
