Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cylinders on/off trucks per regulations.

• Identify cylinder contents via labels and color-coding; maintain safety protocols.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment.
• Maintain records of cylinder type and quantity during loading/unloading.
• Secure cylinders on/off pallets and ensure proper strapping.
• Inspect returned cylinders for defects and perform minor equipment maintenance.
• Move cylinders to designated areas using safe methods.
• Identify and segregate out-of-test or defective cylinders; maintain quality.

Production Associate (Cylinder Loader)

Location: Billerica, MA

Shift: 2nd Shift (1pm–9:30pm), Monday–Friday

Pay Rate: $25.75/hr

Responsibilities

• Load and unload high‑pressure and liquid cylinders on/off trucks in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Meet all safety standards while handling cylinder gases per Airgas procedures.
• Inspect cylinders prior to filling, ensuring government, Airgas, and distributor safety benchmarks are met.
• Maintain awareness of safety protocols for various gases and identify size and contents of cylinders by reading labels and color‑coding.
• Operate forklift, pallet jack, and other warehouse equipment to support site operations.
• Carefully load cylinders on/off vehicles using a hand truck or chain hoist, and maintain accurate records of type and quantity.
• Securely load/unload cylinders on/off pallets, confirming they are safely strapped in.
• Examine returned cylinders for surface defects, dents, cracks, or burns and perform minor maintenance of equipment.
• Move cylinders to designated work areas using safe work methods or equipment.
• Identify and segregate out‑of‑test or defective cylinders to maintain quality standards.
• Prepare cylinders for reuse by removing old labels and ensuring they are clean.
• Contribute to other team needs as assigned to ensure a supportive work environment.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percent.
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred.
• Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite or Microsoft Office applications.
• Knowledge of OSHA and Airgas safety programs, regulations, and procedures applicable to this position.
