Cornerstone Building Brands is hiring a Production Associate 4 (PIT Operator) in New Jersey. The role involves locating, transporting, and loading building materials into fleet trailers and handling windows/doors on the shipping dock.

Candidates should be able to lift 50 pounds regularly, read and write English, and have 1–3 years of manufacturing experience with forklift certification. Full-time, benefits start day 1.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write in English and interpret common instructions and data.
• 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must have forklift certification for electric or gas powered forklifts.

Responsibilities

• Locate, transport, and load building materials into trailers.
• Unload and load windows and patio doors onto shipping carts.
• Safely strap loaded units with straps and cardboard per SOPs.
• Adhere to 5S guidelines at the workstation.
• Record stock pallet locations and assist forklift operator.

Production Associate 4 (PIT Operator)

JOB DETAILS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The forklift position, is responsible for safely and efficiently, locating, transporting, and loading building materials into our fleeted trailers. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

• Participate in Safety walks and all stand-up meetings
• Investigate last known scan locations in WINTRAK of windows and doors throughout the shipping dock
• Safely unload and load windows and patio doors onto shipping carts
• Locate and retrieve custom windows and doors, located on holding carts throughout the shipping dock
• Safely and efficiently floor load custom and stock windows and patio doors onto trailers, by manifested stops
• Place all screen, panel and frame kit labels on respective units before scanning and loading
• Scan all stock/ custom windows, PD doors, screens, panels, frames, sash/ glass only units to trailer locations
• Safe movement of carts in and out of loading dock work area
• Investigate and record stock pallet locations onto SD pallet forms and submit to forklift operator for retrieval
• Properly strap all loaded windows and Patio doors with efficient amount of straps & cardboard, and in accordance with SOP’s
• Clean and sweep trailer before loading any merchandise
• Adhere to 5S guidelines while at workstation and during operations
• Ensure dock lock is engaged while loading trailers, and disengaged upon completion of loaded trailer
• Safely and efficiently operate sit down forklift

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and stand for duration of entire shift.
• Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
• Able to convert fractions to decimals
• Ability to read, write in English language and interpret common statistical data, productivity reports, and written instructions
• Capable of using computerized equipment
• Ability to move carts in and out of production areas
• 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
• 1 - 3 years of experience working on electric or gas powered forklift (Must have been previously certifited)
