Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a production support associate at our Houston site. The role involves following safety rules, assisting with CPU customers, loading photo uploads, and supporting location job orders on the production floor.

The position requires at least 1 year in manufacturing, good communication and basic computer skills, and ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Overtime and weekend work may be needed; crane/forklift training is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of related manufacturing experience.

• Crane experience or trainable on crane.
• Flexible with overtime and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety rules in a manufacturing setting.
• Assist CPU customers.
• Upload loading photos.
• Assist with location job orders on the production floor.
• Use crating materials and ensure secure transport.
• Operate forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Check actual vs maximum trailer load when needed.
• Assist with inventory counts as required.
• Maintain continuous improvement practices in the area.
• Inspect work for defects per Quality Systems.
• Suggest cost-saving productivity improvements.
• Work overtime as required.
• Read and follow posted schedules.
• May be assigned other tasks by the team leader.

Job Description

Base pay rate is $17.50 per hour

Schedule Hours: 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, hours may vary depending on operations

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Understands and follows safety rules and precautions in a manufacturing environment.
• Assist CPU customers
• Uploads loading photos
• Assist with location job order on the production floor
• Employs a range of crating and packaging resources, including metal bands and protective coverings, to ensure parts are securely fastened and safeguarded during transport.
• Proficient in operating forklifts and other lifting equipment.
• Responsible for each lift, deciding when to check actual vs maximum allowable trailer load.
• Assists with inventory counts as required
• Maintains practices for continuous improvement within the work area.
• Inspect work visually for defects according to Quality Systems
• Provide cost-saving suggestions and ideas to improve productivity and eliminate waste
• Willing/able to work overtime
• Ability read, write, and follow posted schedules
• May be assigned other projects or tasks by the team leader.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
• A minimum of one year of related work experience in manufacturing or comparable work environment
• Good Communication Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Forklift experience a plus / Must be trainable on forklift
• Crane experience a plus / Must be trainable on crane
• Flexible with working overtime and weekends when needed
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Ability to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment
• Some knowledge of a manufacturing environment.

This is a position with the potential overtime. The shifts are 8 hours, 10 hours, and 12 hours long depending on work orders for the day and season of the year.
