Job summary

Associated Materials Innovations, LLC is seeking a manufacturing associate in Cedar Rapids, IA. The role involves operating equipment to assemble window components, inspecting for defects, and maintaining a clean production area.

You will participate in cross-training, work with multiple teams, and contribute to safety and quality in a fast-paced plant environment. High school diploma or GED required; training provided for those eager to learn.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment and assemble window components using hand tools and tape measures.
  • Inspect products for defects with strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Support loading machines, packing finished products, and preparing labels.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment and follow safety standards.
  • Cross-train and develop skills across multiple operations.

What To Expect

  • Operate equipment or machinery & assemble window components using a tape measure and other hand tools.
  • Inspect product throughout the process, looking for defects using a strong attention to detail and an eye for quality.
  • Various aspects of the manufacturing process, which can include loading machines, packing finished products, pulling items, and prepare labels/stickers.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment within assigned and surrounding workspace while ensuring to meet all safety standards and practices.
  • Commit to cross-training, learning multiple positions and develop your skillset further.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience. 1-2 years of manufacturing experience preferred but not required. If you've got the drive to learn, we'll train you!
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English sufficient to
  • Read and understand safety procedures, hazard warnings, and equipment operating instructions.
  • Accurately complete production records, quality checklists, and incident reports in English.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Ability to adapt in fast-paced environment and motivated to become well-versed within multiple areas of operations.
  • Strong attention detail and willingness to work independently or as part of a team and contribute to all areas of operations.
  • Understand how to collaborate with a variety of different people and roles.
  • Committed to cross-train, learn, and develop your skillset further.

Physical Requirements

  • The atmosphere is that of a manufacturing plant. The position will primarily work where moving machinery produces noise. Temperature can range from extreme cold to extreme heat.
  • Physical demands to include movements, positioning, remaining stationary which include standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, climbing, pushing/pulling, forward bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, squatting, crawling, postural balancing, manipulating, trunk rotation, handling, gripping, and talking (hearing).
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs without assistance, based on position, 80lbs-100lb with assistance.
  • Employees must wear Personal Protective Equipment that is issued for that location.
