Job description

Overview

GE HealthCare is committed to designing imaging devices that enable surgeons to make critical, life‑changing decisions in real time. Our active imaging platforms, procedure‑based transducer portfolio, and end‑user software visually guide interventions and navigate within the human body. This role supports the assembly of electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and support production units, ensuring high‑quality manufacturing of surgical visualization devices.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine product assembly tasks, including bonding, potting, mixing epoxy, and installing covers and plastic/metal components.
  • Read blueprints, diagrams, and established procedures to assemble and install probe components.
  • Treat solder touch‑up or primary soldering as a secondary operation.
  • Complete assigned duties that may span wiring, epoxy work, final assembly, or lensing.
  • Handle very small, delicate parts with high precision during assembly preparation.
  • Follow method sheets to maintain documented, controlled processes for electronic component assembly.
  • Execute electro‑mechanical assembly operations using hand tools (wire strippers, wrenches, screwdrivers, pliers) and soldering equipment.
  • Operate automatic and semi‑automatic assembly/production equipment as required.
  • Work independently, remain organized, and adapt to fast‑paced production schedules.
  • Be comfortable sitting under a microscope for extended periods and handle hand soldering under magnification.
Work Environment and Physical Demands

General office/manufacturing environment with potential exposure to hazards related to manufacturing equipment and tools. Must be able to sit or stand at a workstation for extended periods and use a microscope.

Required Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Office experience is a plus).
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and communicate effectively.
  • English language proficiency.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand‑eye coordination.
  • Highly organized, self‑managed, and able to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing business or departmental needs, including overtime when necessary.
