Job summary

WestRock Company in the United States is seeking a production operator to assist the Operator and Assistant Operator in setting up and operating equipment to run corrugated box production that meets customer specifications.

You will read Factory Orders and Print Cards to determine correct settings, confirm equipment operates properly, and assemble components such as dies, printing plates, and feeders while maintaining safety and housekeeping standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist Operators in setting up and operating equipment to run corrugated box production meets customer specifications.
• Read and use Factory Order and Print Card to determine proper equipment settings.
• Verify equipment is operating properly and adjust as needed.
• Set stacker, install dies, attachments and printing plates.
• Set pull rolls, collars & straps; set scores, heads & blade combinations.
• Set Prefeeder and Lead Edge Feeder; check stock for correct size.
• Adjust equipment for proper pressures and register; operate glue and ink systems.
• Set folding rails, squaring section and ejector.

Job description

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY

• To assist the Operator and Assistant Operator in the setup & operate, when necessary, any piece of equipment to run a corrugated box to meet customer specifications

SAFETY PROCEDURES

• Read and understand SAFETY RULES & HOUSEKEEPING GUIDELINES and receive training in proper operating procedures
• Receive instructions in the following.
• Lockout procedures
• Hearing protection
• Safety shoes
• Moving machinery
• All stop buttons
• All nip points
• Conveyor safety
• Lifting and pushing/pulling
• Safety guards, gates & chains

HOUSEKEEPING

• Perform daily clean-up of area
• Dump trash as needed
• Perform extra clan up during downtime
• Follow cleaning schedule listed in Safety Manual
• Keep scrap picked up

MANUFACTURING PROCESS

• Read & use Factory Order & Print Card to determine proper

• Ability to know if equipment is operating properly
• Ability to:
