Job summary

Cowgirl Creamery & Tomales Bay Foods is seeking a Production Associate to support daily cheesemaking, aging, and packaging processes at our California facility. No prior cheesemaking experience is required, making an entry point for motivated individuals.

Responsibilities include working in production, aging rooms, and packaging areas, while maintaining cleanliness and safety in compliance with food safety policies.

Qualifications

• Reliability, good communication skills, and an eye for efficiency.
• Positive attitude and willingness to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb frequently and up to 10 lb continuously.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods in variable temperatures.

Job description

The Production Associate help with the daily cheesemaking process and ensure we are making safe, tasty cheese. We work in compliance with food safety policies and local and federal regulations. In this role, you will assist in meeting daily production goals and keeping the creamery clean and orderly. No prior cheesemaking experience is needed!

This is a non-exempt, full-time position.

What You'll Do:

• Work in the production area making and brining cheese.
• Working in our cheese aging rooms turning and caring for cheese.
• Work in our packaging area getting finished product ready for shipment.
• Cleaning and sanitizing equipment and utensils (We have lots of stainless steel equipment and it sparkles!)

What You Bring:

• Reliability, good communication skills, and an eye for efficiency.
• A positive attitude and a desire to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lb frequently, and to lift and carry up to 10 lb continuously.
• Ability to frequently reach above and below shoulder level, stoop and squat.
• Ability to work safely in variable temperature environments.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
