Job summary

Smurfit Westrock plc is hiring for a full-time position at our Lanett, AL plant. The role involves removing packed cases from conveyors, labeling pallets, and supporting safety and uptime initiatives across day or night shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to read materials such as instruction manuals, procedure manuals or assembly manuals.
• Ability to write in order to complete forms or communicate simple instructions.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to follow a sequence of steps in routine tasks.
• Ability to make short-range decisions that affect a small team or work group.
• Ability to complete tasks as assigned with occasional directions.
• Ability to communicate to explain or interpret well-defined business issues or procedures.

Responsibilities

• Remove packed cases from conveyor and place them on pallets.
• Apply labels to pallets.
• Alert operator to carton defects when found.
• Follow all safety rules and actively participate in the plant safety process.
• Meet the highest level of equipment production uptime.
• Input production data into the system.
• Participate in the preventative maintenance program.
• Work as a Feeder Inspector Packer in Finishing or related roles.
• Maintain housekeeping and organization at the Stackoff area.

Must be able to work both day or night shift (7AM-7PM OR PM-7AM)

We cannot guarantee which shift you will be place on

Payrate: $20.60/hr + $1.00/hr shift differential for nightshift

The Opportunity

• Remove packed cases from conveyor and place them on pallets
• Apply labels to pallets

• Actively participate in the preventative maintenance program
• Work with and /or cross train as a Feeder Inspector Packer in Finishing

What You Need to Succeed

Working conditions/PPE

• Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other safety gear as required
• Continuous standing and walking
• Occasional kneeling, crouching, squatting and bending
• Frequent heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), climbing and grasping
• Continuous use of vision to distinguish depth perceptionAbility to work any shift (night or day)
