Job summary

Nutec is seeking dependable Production Associates to join our manufacturing team in the Greater Charlotte Area (Huntersville, NC). This role operates and supports Dilo production lines, furnaces, and end-of-line packaging, with cross-training and a focus on safety and quality.

You will follow procedures, monitor quality, maintain records, and participate in Lean initiatives while working 12-hour rotating day/night shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Strong attendance and reliability record.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Dilo production equipment.
• Load and process fiber materials per specs.

Position Summary

Production Associate

Location: Greater Charlotte Area (Huntersville, NC)

Nutec is seeking dependable and safety-focused Production Associates to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and supporting various production processes including Dilo production lines, furnace operations, and end-of-line packaging activities. Team members will be cross-trained and expected to safely operate equipment, maintain production quality standards, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

This role requires working in a manufacturing environment around fiber-based materials and heated equipment while following all safety and quality procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Dilo Line Operations

• Set up, operate, and monitor Dilo production equipment.
• Load and process fiber materials according to production specifications.
• Monitor product quality throughout the manufacturing process.
• Identify and report equipment malfunctions or production issues.
• Perform routine cleaning and basic preventative maintenance activities.
• Maintain production records and documentation.

Furnace Operations

• Operate industrial furnaces following established operating procedures.
• Monitor furnace temperatures, controls, and product flow.
• Ensure materials are processed according to quality specifications.
• Perform inspections of furnace equipment and report abnormalities.
• Follow all heat-related safety procedures and use required PPE.
• Assist with startup, shutdown, and changeover activities.

End-of-Line Operations

• Inspect finished products for quality and specification compliance.
• Package, label, and prepare products for shipment.
• Stack, wrap, and move finished goods safely.
• Complete production paperwork and inventory transactions.
• Maintain clean and organized workstations.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials as needed.

General Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain quality standards and production targets.
• Participate in training and cross-functional assignments.
• Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work collaboratively with production, maintenance, quality, and warehouse teams.
• Report safety concerns, equipment issues, and quality deviations immediately.
• Ensure compliance with housekeeping standards and 5S practices.

Qualifications Required

• Manufacturing experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
• Ability to work day or night schedules as assigned.
• Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish.
• Basic math and measurement skills.
• Strong attendance and reliability record.

Preferred

• Manufacturing, industrial, or production experience.
• Experience operating production equipment.
• Forklift experience preferred.
• Experience working in a continuous manufacturing environment.

Physical Requirements

• Frequently lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk for extended periods during 12-hour shifts.
• Frequently bend, stoop, twist, reach, and climb stairs.
• Ability to work around moving machinery and fiber materials.
• Ability to work in a heated manufacturing environment.
• Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including:
• Steel-toe footwear
• Safety glasses
• Hearing protection
• Gloves and additional PPE as required

Work Schedule

12-Hour Rotating Schedule

• Day Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Night Shift: 6:00 PM - 6:00 AM

The schedule rotates workdays, providing employees with regular extended time off and opportunities for overtime.
