Job summary

Touchstone Brewing is seeking a part-time Production Assistant to join our brewery operations in Sacramento. You’ll work beside the production team across brewing, packaging, cleaning, maintenance, and record keeping, with emphasis on quality and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has brewing exposure or a strong interest in craft beer, solid time management, and reliable communication. This role offers competitive pay at $22/hour plus benefits and flexible scheduling for a growing

• Experience in a brewpub, production brewery, or similar environment preferred.
• Passion for craft beer and quality.
• Strong time management, organization and communication skills.
• Forklift certification is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in brewing, packaging, cleaning and maintenance activities.
• Monitor quality and temperature of fermenting beers.
• Perform preventive maintenance and quality checks.
• Represent Touchstone Brewing at events and festivals.
• Draught system maintenance and cooperage management.

Touchstone Brewing is looking to hire an Assistant Brewer/Production Assistant

Job Summary

The production assistant will work side by side with all production team members in most facets of the brewhouse and cellar operations including packaging, cleaning and maintenance, and record keeping.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor quality and temperature of fermenting beers Cleaning and maintenance
• Preventive maintenance
• Perform quality control and assurance testing.
• Represent TBC at Festivals and events
• Cooperage management
• Willingness to pitch in on duties outside of your key responsibilities. Draught system maintenance in tavern

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Understanding fermentation science and other elements of brewing, and a willingness/desire to learn more Ability to prioritize and multitask.
• Forklift certification preferred but not mandatory, (we can train)

Physical Demands

• Ability to work long hours on your feet, 8-10 hours/day Must be able to work in hot, wet, and loud environment
• Must be able to work with and around steam, electricity and potentially hazardous chemicals and solvents
• Continual moving, lifting, and manipulation of hoses, buckets, pumps, and other parts that require extended standing, lifting, crouching, and walking
• Ability to frequently sit, stand, bend, walk, lift, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
• Heavy physical work including climbing stairs, climbing into tanks, pulling hoses, etc.
• Willing to work in wet, hot and cold conditions
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. and push or pull 160 lbs.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a brewpub, production brewery, or similar manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
• Passion for craft beer
• Effective time management, organization, and communication skills.
• Degree in Fermentation Sciences or completion of brewery science program great but not required.

Compensation

This is a part time position, working no more than 30 hours per week. Starting Pay is $22.00/hour. Production Assistantindividual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to; facility location and type, membership volume, experience, and job/position tenure.
