Job summary

Chicago Tube and Iron Company in Romeoville, IL is seeking a Production Assistant to support laser processing and quality inspections, ensuring parts meet customer prints and specs under direction from leads and operators.

The role requires basic math and computer skills, the ability to read blueprints, and the stamina to sit/stand for 6-8 hours and lift up to 50 pounds; prior manufacturing or fabrication experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or fabrication is a plus.
• Experience using standard shop tools and inspection measuring tools.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Ability to read blueprints/shop drawings is a plus.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk 6-8 hours per day.
• Ability to regularly lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist Laser Operators in processing, delivery and removal of material to/from laser machines.
• Operate handling equipment to load/unload material to/from CNC Laser Equipment.
• Monitor machine when operator is not present and ensure continued operation.
• Assist in loading and packaging laser cut parts into boxes.
• Use measurement tools to conduct quality inspection of parts.
• Complete quality inspection reports throughout the shift.
• Assist in secondary operations (tapping, cleaning, grinding).
• Follow all health & safety standards.
