Job summary

Gray Media's WAND-TV in Decatur, IL, is launching your television career as a Production Assistant in our fast-paced broadcast studio. You’ll gain hands-on experience operating studio cameras, audio boards, graphics systems, and working closely with directors and technical staff to support news and projects.

The role offers a full-time schedule Mon–Fri with early mornings and some evenings, holidays, and weekends.

Qualifications

• Some video production and television studio experience is preferred but not required.
• Fast learner with strong communication skills and ability to work early mornings, late evenings, holidays, flexible hours, and weekends.
• Can handle the stresses of time-sensitive newscast production.

Responsibilities

• Operate cameras/studio floor directing and other production-related tasks for various newscasts and projects.
• Audio & Graphics execution: Mix audio, manage wireless mics/IFBs, and trigger on-air graphics and lower thirds.
• Edit syndicated promos for air and other content using Adobe Premiere.
• Maintain appearance of the studio including cleaning of set and floors.
• Basic maintenance and operation of props, cameras, prompters, sets, and other production equipment.
