Job summary

The Walt Disney Company's ESPN NEXT program seeks aspiring storytellers for early-career roles across studio, live events, digital, social and audio platforms. You will be part of a team training, developing and producing content for ESPN shows and events, with structured assignments and ongoing development.

As a Production Assistant, you will gain hands-on experience, work nights and weekends, and be paired with a mentor.

Qualifications

• Willingness to work nights, mornings, weekends and holidays.
• Conversational knowledge of multiple sports, especially sports heavily covered by ESPN (NBA/WNBA, NFL, NHL, MLB, College Football and Basketball).
• Enthusiasm and passion for sports.
• Ability to comfortably prepare and contribute ideas.
• Professional communication and organisation skills.
• Ability to react quickly and positively while staying composed under tight deadlines in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
• Self-starting attitude and team-oriented work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Support production and content creation for domestic and global properties across all sports.
• Consistently share creative and innovative ideas to contribute to ESPN's multi-platform storytelling.
• Edit video and audio elements and research content for a variety of shows and networks.
• Run the audio board, loading playlists and logging commercials, sales and promos for multi-platform broadcasts.
• Coordinate graphics for assigned studio telecasts and/or remote live events.
• Produce a variety of elements including highlights, teases, opens and montages for shows, live events and digital platforms.
• Assist with live events by gathering video and sponsorship elements for broadcasts.

About the Role

ESPN NEXT is the entry point for aspiring storytellers at ESPN, hiring, training and developing early-career talent who work behind the scenes across studio, live events, digital, social and emerging platforms. The role sits within a dynamic team of early-career professionals producing content across ESPN's shows, live events, digital/social and audio platforms. Structured training, content assignments and ongoing development build a ready pipeline of talent for content roles across ESPN. The team works in a fast-paced environment covering sports around the clock, where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities

• Support production and content creation for domestic and global properties across all sports.

• Leadership experience in a professional role, organisation or extra-curricular endeavour.
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.
