Responsibilities

  • Assemble and prepare a variety of fiber optic cables to specification, following work orders, drawings, and process instructions to determine work steps.
  • Apply process instructions and quality guidelines consistently to meet production standards.
  • Follow work direction from supervisor, lead, engineers, and co-workers.
  • Communicate clearly with the team on workflow status, listening actively and sharing information honestly and openly.
  • Present workflow updates clearly and concisely, adjusting tone and detail for the audience.
  • Meet and maintain established labor/output requirements, recording materials used and tracking production output as required.
  • Stay flexible and reprioritize work orders as business needs shift.
  • Crosstrain across all department work cells to support production needs wherever they arise.
  • Instruct and support co-workers and subcontract personnel as needed.
  • Work overtime as required to meet production demands.
  • Perform in-process and final inspection of completed work, identifying and correcting inconsistencies or discrepancies before they become quality issues.
  • Verify accuracy on details that matter to downstream teams and customers.
  • Resolve quality issues directly or escalate them appropriately to consistently meet standards.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and fiber optic splicing equipment to fasten connectors accurately and efficiently

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Prepare bulk fiber optic cable for assembly and splice a variety of fiber optic patch cords and panel assemblies to consistently high-quality production standards.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assemble and prepare a variety of fiber optic cables to specification, following work orders, drawings, and process instructions to determine work steps.
  • Apply process instructions and quality guidelines consistently to meet production standards.

  • Follow work direction from supervisor, lead, engineers, and co-workers.
  • Communicate clearly with the team on workflow status, listening actively and sharing information honestly and openly.
  • Present workflow updates clearly and concisely, adjusting tone and detail in a logical and appropriate detail for the audience.
  • Meet and maintain established labor/output requirements, recording materials used and tracking production output as required.
Flexibility & Cross Training
  • Stay flexible and reprioritize work orders as business needs shift.
  • Crosstrain across all department work cells to support production needs wherever they arise.
  • Instruct and support co-workers and subcontract personnel as needed.
  • Work overtime as required to meet production demands.
Quality & Attention to Detail

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • General assembly experience preferred.
  • Ability to accurately distinguish colors and demonstrate strong hand-eye coordination.
  • Manual dexterity and precision for tasks requiring close visual detail and steady hand, wrist, and arm control
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basis.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the shift.
  • Ability to work with a wide variety of part sizes and weights.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous improvement and Change management mindset.
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently amid frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.

SHIFT:

Monday - Friday, 8-hour shift with flexibility between 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM.
