Job summary

Weiler is seeking a Production and Process Manager for Cresco Operations to lead manufacturing and W&L activities. You will establish a lean, metric-driven culture, drive safety, and align operational strategy with financial goals.

The role involves collaborating with Engineering, Quality, EH&S, and Supply Chain to meet customer commitments. Ideal candidates have 10+ years in process/manufacturing leadership, strong Lean and Six Sigma experience, and a proven ability to drive step-change

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Engineering or related field with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Must have discrete manufacturing experience in a low volume, high mix environment.
  • Must have distribution and logistics experience and have a strong mechanical competence.
  • Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment with process and people management.
  • Fluent in Lean manufacturing (A3’s, 6s, Kaizen, Flow, SMED, TPM, Small Group Problem Solving, Visual Management).
  • Ability to be strategic and creative about linking people and organizational practices to drive business results.

Position summary:

The Production and Process Manager, Cresco Operations, will lead the plant's manufacturing and W&L operations to achieve customer satisfaction and meet critical business objectives by building a safe, lean, and metric-driven manufacturing culture. In this function, the Production and Process Manager will need to be part of creating, communicating, supporting and executing the vision and goals of the business. The role requires the ability to formulate and drive the operational strategy within the business while developing and exceeding the operational and financial metrics of the business.

This role reports to the Director of North American Operations overseeing the Manufacturing, Warehouse & Distribution, and Production Scheduling functions for the Cresco Operations. In addition, the Production and Process Manager will work with functional leads in Supply Chain, Continuous Improvement, Engineering, Quality, and EH&S to ensure that effective collaboration occurs to successfully meet assigned plant goals.

The Production and process Manager's goal is to ensure customer commitments are met both with quality and timely delivery as well as leading the manufacturing team to support a high-performance people-oriented culture using the Weiler Leadership Behaviors.

Essential job functions and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all activities are conducted in a safe manner and in compliance with all applicable regulations and Company procedures through development of a behavioral based safety program and engineered safety program.
  • Support a culture of safety and compliance by reinforcing policies, participating in safety reviews, and assisting with resolution of potential risks.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to integrate safety considerations into all production areas and projects.
  • Implement a customer focused operational culture delivering world class customer delivery and quality.
  • Develops and leads a culture of continuous improvement by embracing lean thinking, six sigma statistical tool analysis, having people centered leadership throughout the operation.
  • Identifies and implements methods and processes supported by standard work to drive operational improvements in productivity, quality, on time performance, and operating profits.
  • Manage plant operations and ensure daily, weekly, and monthly KPI’s and production objectives are met.
  • Plans daily, monthly production plans to achieve monthly KPI’s and production objectives, monitor performance against plan, and drive countermeasures when performance does not meet expectation.
  • Utilize the SIOP planning process to maintain and continuously improve customer performance, inventory management, production and supply chain capacity planning.
  • Develops robust processes for control of quality utilizing standard work with aim of providing avenue for continuous improvement in quality and productivity.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentoring to the operational team, enabling them to achieve the operational and financial metrics of the organization
  • Lead employee engagement through HPWS High Performance Work System teams developing a culture of ownership, problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Foster a workplace that engages and challenges every employee while continually improving the quality of life for employees and the desire to grow with the company.
  • Create open lines of communications within and across departments through a structured and multi-layered communication process.
  • In collaboration with Engineering, Maintenance, Industrialization, Product Management, and Finance, develop and implement effective systems and processes to measure and improve performance and drive cost reductions.
  • Optimize costs, manage departmental and capital budgets to plan.
  • Provide design for manufacturing input at early stages in the New Product Development process coordinating with New Product Development Team to implement new and revised designs through developing effective processes to optimize cost and quality
  • Manage rapidly changing priorities and demands of resources.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, vendors, contractors, and others who support our business objectives.

Education and Experience:

  • BA/BS degree in Engineering or related field with at least 10 years of experience. Process Engineering experience a plus.
  • Must have discrete manufacturing experience in a low volume, high mix environment.
  • Must have distribution and logistics experience and have a strong mechanical competence.
  • Must have experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment with process and people management experience. Demonstrated experience in supervising management level employees with outstanding interpersonal skills.
  • Must have experience driving change and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Must be fluent in Lean manufacturing (A3’s, 6s, Kaizen, Flow, SMED, TPM, Small Group Problem Solving, Visual Management, etc.). Must have demonstrated results in driving step change improvements operations.
  • Ability to be strategic and creative about linking people and organizational practices to drive effective business results and culture.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to manage conflicting points of view and negotiate an appropriate resolution to issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the senior leadership team and foster collaborative relationships throughout the business, inspiring trust and confidence from colleagues.
  • Strong project-management skills and demonstrated commitment to delivering excellent results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; must be able to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Must be proficient with the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook. Prophix Financial Software. Must know ERP software and be an open learner of operations and business software.
