Responsibilities

Astro Digital designs, builds, and operates a diverse range of small satellite systems supporting space-based turnkey missions for several business applications, including earth observation, communications, in-orbit demonstrations, risk reduction, science, and exploration. Astro Digital is headquartered in Littleton, Colorado with roughly 120employees and infrastructure around the globe.

Position Summary

Asa Product Systems Engineer, you will help shape the architecture of our productoffering. This role sits at the boundary between architecture andimplementation and brings coherence across hardware, software, and the systemsthat connect them. You will work with senior engineers to define the structureof our ongoing product developments, contribute to architecture decisions, helpdefine interfaces and requirements at the product level, and own the customer-facinginterface so they remain coherent, reusable, and product-relevant.

Primary Duties &Responsibilities

• Contributeto defining the general architecture of our offering across our products
• Requirementallocation across hardware, software, embedded systems, in-house components,and external components
• Helpdefine and evolve the core processing chain as a coherent part of the offering
• Supportthe design of software tools and interfaces as the main entry point forcustomers
• Helpclarify the interaction model between embedded software, application software,customer software, third-party software
• Helpdocument and maintain requirements, interfaces, and architectural boundaries
• Participatein architecture discussions and help align product intent, system architecture,and implementation realities across teams
• Ownershipof product EIDP, ICDs, architecture notes, trade studies, and related technicaldocumentation
• Helpensure solutions are reusable, scalable, and understandable
• Participatein architecture reviews and support technical decision-making
• Takea product from early requirement definition, through development, to a productionline and customer support

Minimum Qualifications

• Solidsystems engineering background in technical products spanning software, electricaland mechanical
• Someexperience working across architecture definition, requirements structuring,and engineering implementation
• Manageproducts through their entire lifecycle from conception to delivery
• Abilityto help structure complex systems into clear capabilities, interfaces,requirements, and responsibilities
• Goodunderstanding of software-heavy systems, including abstraction layers, distributeddevices, APIs, and integration patterns
• Abilityto collaborate on cross-functional technical work across teams without relyingon direct authority
• Strongcommunication and documentation skills, with the ability to help turn technicalambiguity into a clear framework for decisions and execution
• Goodengineering judgment on the right level of rigor, abstraction, andspecification for a growing organization

Preferred Qualifications

• Experiencewith complex embedded or distributed systems including field-deployed tooling
• Customer-facingtechnical platforms
• Exposureto embedded programming
