Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client and graphics engineering competitive analysis workstream, collaborating with subject matter experts to conduct 2nd and 3rd level deep dive analysis of subsystems and components.
  • Drive premium product development by optimizing power, performance architecture, and system-level features through collaboration with design, architecture, SOC teams, OEMs, and internal functions. Ensure alignment with power management, performance objectives, and customer needs.
  • Communicate progress and performance objectives to both AMD leadership and OEM customer teams.
  • Define and integrate requirements for internal design, performance, and product characterization efforts as it relates to OEM system and commercial customer needs.
  • Directly engage with OEM/ODM customer power and performance design teams, providing product projections, validation support, design assistance, and product training. This includes leading and supporting early customer engagement through Proof of Concept vehicle development for new AMD power and performance features.
  • Develop strong partnerships with program stakeholders across the organization and development partners.

Preferred Experience

  • APU/CPU expertise: Direct experience with APU/CPU system performance analysis, including architecture, thermal controls, firmware-controlled power and thermal management, and layout optimization for performance and size.
  • Thermal management expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of system thermal components and technologies (fans, heatsinks, shielding, spreaders, TIMs) and their impact on key components like VRAM, NVME, VR, memory, and charging circuits.
  • Effective communication and collaboration: Strong communication skills and ability to build respect while communicating status to executive-level audiences Bonus: Expert knowledge in heat transfer and fluid mechanics with advanced CFD modeling experience (Icepak or Flotherm) and mechanical CAD modeling (Creo or Solidworks).
