Job summary

Parker Aerospace in Hauppauge, NY is seeking a Product Support Coordinator Sr - Shipping & Receiving to join our team. You will manage raw stock, identify parts, handle shipping/receiving, and maintain stockroom operations with ERP/MRP input, ensuring on-time delivery and accuracy.

Qualifications

  • Three years related product support experience or demonstrated ability to perform described position responsibilities.
  • Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures and systems in several functional areas and ability to effectively troubleshoot problem situations.
  • May be required to operate moving equipment and saw equipment and meet OSHA safety qualifications. May require forklift operator certificate.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer terminal operations. Must demonstrate manual dexterity.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Proficient in reading, understanding and interpreting related forms and specifications. May be required to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.

Responsibilities

  • Receive incoming raw stock and verify material against documentation for identification and accuracy of quantity.
  • Load and unload trucks and move raw material to the proper location.
  • Identify and code raw material and operate saw to cut stock to dimensional specifications.
  • Issue jobs per schedule and update shop floor and MRP system.
  • Maintain minimum/maximum raw stock requirements. Coordinate storage, handling, receiving and inventory procedures.
  • Requisition raw material per work order requirements.
  • May perform advanced functional AMAPS/MRP commands.
  • Identify parts using the proper identification methods and equipment; lay out exact dimensions and locations on the parts for identification markings.
  • Perform set up and minor repair of equipment.
  • Report critical shortages to appropriate organizations.
  • Maintain an accurate serialized record.
  • Prepare parts for storage and place stock in proper location; fill orders from stock lists.
  • Perform cycle inventory counts and maintain records in computer.
  • Assist with ASRS functions if applicable, including add/release requisitions.
  • Prepare parts and/or materials for shipping with proper paperwork, packing per specs, and carrier labeling.
  • Coordinate shipping schedule to meet customer commitments; select carrier methods for cost and speed.
  • Receive shipments at receiving dock and forward materials to the appropriate team.
  • Weigh or count incoming/outbound parts or materials.
  • Input data to update system records and verify documents.
  • Maintain cleaning and proper handling procedures in the work area.
  • Ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations.

Position Summary

With limited guidance in a team environment, responsible for performing a variety of product support duties of a complex nature following and developing procedures and processes in two or more of the following functions: raw stock, parts identification, shipping, receiving, stockroom, stock handling, clean operations, etc.

Responsibilities

RAW STOCK
Receive incoming raw stock and verify material against documentation for identification and accuracy of quantity. Load and unload trucks and move raw material to the proper location. Identify and code raw material and operate saw to cut stock to dimensional specifications. Issue jobs per schedule and update shop floor and MRP system. Maintain minimum/maximum raw stock requirements. Coordinate the storage, handling, receiving and inventory procedures. Requisition raw material per work order requirements. May perform advanced functional AMAPS/MRP commands.

PARTS IDENTIFICATION
Identify parts using the proper identification methods and equipment indicated by the traveller and/or blueprint. Lay out exact dimensions and locations on the parts for identification markings. Perform set up and minor repair of equipment. Report critical shortages to appropriate organizations. Review traveller or other appropriate documents to determine if the instructions are appropriate. Recommend identification method changes where appropriate. Maintain an accurate serialized record. Maintain the equipment and supplies necessary to accomplish assigned responsibilities.

SHIPPING
Prepare parts and/or materials to assure safe handling for shipment including the completion of the necessary paperwork and shipping records. Prepare packaging per specifications for shipment including computer input for necessary labels, forms and shipping records. Interpret shipping instruction as referenced on company documents or customer, government specifications or standards related to preservation and packing. Prepare stencils and mark shipments in a legible manner. Prepare air bills, bills of lading and sales order forms for the carrier and company records. Contact carriers for dispatching shipments, establishing rates or tracing follow-up information. If required, establish preferred carrier or method of transportation for the most economical and expeditious manner of delivery. Coordinate the shipping schedule to ensure customer commitments are met. Plan for future shipments and order materials needed to make shipping containers. Prepare forms and reports.

RECEIVING
Receive shipments at receiving dock and forward materials to the appropriate team. Weigh or count incoming/outbound parts or materials. Perform data input to update system records and verify all documents for completeness and accuracy. If required, will troubleshoot, diagnose problems and coordinate between departments and monitor outside vendor commitments.

STOCKROOM
Receive material, check and identify parts by type or part number. Prepare parts for storage and place stock in proper location as directed. Select parts from stock to fill orders according to parts lists. Perform cycle inventory count. Maintain, update and access necessary records utilizing a computer. If applicable execute most advanced Automated Storage & Retrieval System (ASRS) functions such as add requisition, release requisition, edit, fill shortage and delete requisition. Prioritize workload as needed and perform basic maintenance and require of equipment.

Clean Operations
Using various cleaning and degreasing methods, clean and remove oil and contamination from parts and equipment according to proper procedures and specifications. Maintain cleaning solutions in the equipment. Oil parts to prevent rust and corrosion. Mix required concentrations of cleaning fluids. Maintain cleaning room procedures and the proper priority for flow of parts. Observe all safety rules and regulations and maintain work area in a neat and orderly condition. Perform other related responsibilities.
