Job summary

Applied Materials seeks an experienced Quality & Reliability engineer in Kalispell, MT to develop and maintain quality standards, perform FMECA and reliability analyses, and implement test plans with supplier and engineering teams. Travel up to 20% may be required.

Requires MS in Mechanical/Materials/Electrical engineering; CRE preferred. Salary range is $96,000–$132,000 USD annually, with potential bonuses and stock awards. Relocation is eligible and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

  • MS in Mechanical/Materials/Electrical engineering required.
  • CRE certification preferred for advanced reliability work.
  • Experience applying quality and reliability methods to hardware products.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, revises, maintains quality/reliability standards to meet customer expectations.
  • Designs and implements inspection, testing and evaluation procedures.
  • Creates reliability test plans and performs failure analyses (FMECA, CRAMS, PQP).
  • Collects and analyzes operation/test data; documents testing results.
  • Develops methods, parameters and project proposals.
  • Evaluates methods, procedures and policies to ensure world-class quality.
  • Coaches and mentors teammates on quality and reliability processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develops, applies, revises, maintains and/ or tests quality/ reliability standards to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
  • Designs and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the quality/ reliability of products
  • Develops, implements quality/ reliability test plans and performs failure analysis. Perform FMECA, document CRAMS and work with supplier and engineer to enable crams test plan. Also perform PQP at supplier. Reliability modeling and ERAMS
  • Gathers operational and test data and evaluates results. Prepares documentation for testing.
  • Develops methods and parameters, project methodology and/ or project proposals.
  • Evaluates work methods, procedures and policies to ensure world class quality standards are attainable.
  • May be accountable for projects/ programs as wells as, developing methods and parameters, project methodology and/ or project proposals.
  • Coaches, mentor and conduct training for targeted organizations on quality & reliability process

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.

For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
