Job description

Built to set the gold standard for integrated AI infrastructure

Crux AI is a newly formed, U.S.-based integrated AI infrastructure company created to remove the physical and operational constraints on consequential AI ambitions. Crux brings together power, high-density data centers, TPU silicon, networking, orchestration software, and ongoing operations as one integrated system.

Crux is being capitalized to plan every layer together, develop each one to demanding standards, and operate the whole system with efficiency and reliability. That gives hyperscalers, frontier AI labs, sovereign customers, enterprises, and AI-native companies greater freedom to pursue the AI they are here to create.

What you'll do

You own how Crux prices its products, how it understands its own unit economics and profitability, and how it reads the market it competes in. Crux will sign some of the largest compute contracts in the industry, and the pricing of the first handful will set the reference point for everything that follows. Because those contracts run for years, every analysis in this role is forward-looking: the question is never only what a TPU-hour costs and earns today, but how our offerings, costs, and competitive position will evolve across generation transitions, power markets, and customer demand over the life of a contract. You will build the pricing architecture, the fully loaded cost and margin model of record, and the TCO analysis that Sales takes to customers, grounded in price/performance benchmarks across accelerators and in the value Crux's products create for specific customer use cases. You will lead deal economics on anchor contracts alongside the CRO and CFO, run competitive and market intelligence, and assess which customer segments and workload classes Crux should prioritize, evaluate the right mix of our offering (spot vs. long-term) at the right price. You'll partner across Sales, Finance, Demand/Supply Planning, Business Operations, and Strategic Supply / Partnerships.

Signals of success include

After 90 days in this role, you will:

  • Complete a first-cut fully loaded cost and margin model per TPU-hour and per MW — cost, price, and resulting margin projected over a multi-year horizon — agreed with the CFO as the basis of record

  • Deliver a competitive pricing and capacity landscape across neoclouds, hyperscalers, and leading AI infrastructure providers

  • Propose Crux's pricing architecture — rate structures by generation and commitment term, take-or-pay mechanics, pass-through costs — and the approval framework for contracts above defined thresholds, anchored on deal-level profitability

  • Adapt to a fast-paced environment, triaging appropriately and continuously improving our function

After 6 months in, you will:

  • Have priced Crux's first set of anchor customer contracts using your framework, with multi-year deal economics, margin, and scenario analysis the executive team relied on

  • Have a customer-ready TCO and price/performance narrative versus alternative accelerated compute in active use by Sales, with value-based pricing tied to priority customer use cases

  • Refresh the cost and margin model on a defined cadence, reconciled against actuals and updated projections

  • Deliver a customer segment and workload attractiveness assessment as an input to the Demand/Supply Planning plan of record

  • Demonstrated an AI-forward and automated approach to this role — you have built, in a hands-on way, AI-enabled tools for pricing analysis, competitive intelligence, and scenario modeling that the team uses every day

After 1 year in, you will:

  • Run pricing as a repeatable function with an automated deal pricing tool with what-if scenario capabilities, a rate card, approval thresholds, and a lightweight deal review process

  • Have your unit economics, profitability, and market work serving as a standing input to the executive team and board to inform the company’s strategic direction

  • Have modeled and navigated at least one TPU generation transition in pricing and contract structure, with a forward view of how the next transition will affect contract pricing and economics

Experiences, attributes and mindset that indicate you are a good match. You have:
  • 8-10+ years in pricing, commercial strategy, or infrastructure economics, including direct responsibility for pricing long-duration, high-value capacity contracts — cloud or accelerated compute, colocation, wholesale telecom, or power — and experience with performance-based or value-based pricing

  • Built a unit-economics or deal profitability model a company actually ran on: used by finance, sales, and executives to make binding decisions, and reconciled against real operating data

  • You are outcome driven and hands on. Close enough to the work to be useful. This is a builder’s seat, not a supervisory one

  • You are credible with finance, sales, and engineering at the same time. You can hold a margin argument with a CFO, a competitive argument with a CRO, and a cost-stack argument with an infrastructure engineer

  • You have a high tolerance for ambiguity. You absorb ambiguity and navigate complexity rather than passing it along

  • You think like an owner of the asset over its life, not the deal in front of you. You model years forward, care about the long-run economics of the fleet more than any single win

  • You build your own tools. You use AI and automation as a default in everyday work, and you'd rather build a model or agent that runs the analysis continuously than produce a one-off deck

Nice to have [Preferred, not required]:
  • Direct experience with accelerated compute economics — GPU or TPU capacity pricing, cluster TCO, or AI infrastructure financing

  • Top-tier strategy consulting followed by an operating role in cloud, data centers, or energy

  • Experience preparing pricing or market materials for board or sponsor audiences
