Job description

Omron Robotics and Safety Technologies, Inc. (ORT) is a global leading provider of intelligent vision‑guided robotics systems and services. We develop social needs driven solutions for the global automation market. Our robotics systems provide unmatched performance and economic value throughout the production lifecycle, enabling customers to achieve precision, quality and productivity in their assembly, handling and packaging processes in a safer and greener environment. We develop new electronics, mechanics and software for an exceptionally broad spectrum of robots – including autonomous mobile robots, articulated robots, parallel link robots, and more. Our product development teams have a passion for innovation, and a record of accomplishment of developing successful products for the global market, and revolutionize interaction between human and machine! ORT is subsidiary of Omron Corporation, a $8 billion global technology company celebrating more than 90 years of success.

We are seeking a Product Owner, Fleet Management & Cloud to support ORT’s transition to a value stream‑oriented operating model. This role is responsible for execution, backlog ownership, and delivery of ORT’s fleet management and cloud software offerings, working in close partnership with engineering teams and the Global Product Manager for this value stream.

This position reports to the Director, Mobile Product Management. The role operates in close partnership with Global Product Managers aligned to the same value stream, with a focus on software execution, Agile delivery, and customer‑driven outcomes. This role can be based at any Omron Robotics location in the Americas or Europe.

Our Commitment To Employees
  • Training and Career Development Program to give employees a learning path with the necessary tools and resources they need to help build their career at Omron.
  • Great financial opportunities with competitive compensation, immediate 401(k) match with 100% vesting, profit sharing, and Blue Cross Blue Shield for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits.
  • Community Programs that include activities with local non‑profit organizations and a Matching Gift Program.
  • Work‑Life Balance with Flexible Work Arrangements, Flexible Work Hours, and Sick/Vacation/Holiday Pay.
  • Wellness Programs such as Walking Contests, Nutritional Learning Sessions, On Site Flu shots or Health Screenings, etc.
  • Education Assistance Program.
Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain the product backlog for Fleet Management & Cloud software, translating roadmap priorities into well‑defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Enable Agile value stream teams by directing feature and defect prioritization, collaborating closely with stakeholders to clarify scope, resolve dependencies, and remove delivery blockers.
  • Lead backlog refinement, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives alongside software developers and other stakeholders, including the Software Architect.
  • Ensure engineering efforts are aligned to customer workflows, business value, and value stream objectives, not just feature output.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Product Manager to align sprint outcomes to roadmap goals, releases, and commercial priorities.
  • Work with UX, systems engineering, and architecture stakeholders to ensure solutions scale across cloud, IT/OT integration, and customer environments.
  • Participate in customer engagement, feedback loops, and internal demos to ensure validated learning informs backlog priorities.
  • Support release planning, coordination, and internal enablement for Fleet Management & Cloud deployments.
  • Actively identify and remove execution blockers to maintain delivery velocity and product quality.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
  • 5+ years of experience working in software product ownership, product management, or Agile delivery roles.
  • Hands‑on experience working with Agile development teams in a B2B software environment.
  • Prior experience with cloud‑based platforms, enterprise software, or industrial systems.
  • To conform with U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorization from the U.S. Government.
  • Strong understanding of Agile and Scrum practices, including backlog management, story writing, and sprint execution.
  • Ability to translate customer and market needs into clear, actionable software requirements.
  • Comfortable making day‑to‑day tradeoff decisions that balance scope, quality, and delivery speed.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate across engineering, product, UX, and commercial teams.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and quality.
  • Preferred: Experience with fleet management software, IoT platforms, or IT/OT integration.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with cloud architectures, APIs, and enterprise software deployment models.
  • Preferred: background working in robotics, automation, or industrial technology environments.

The annual salary range for this role is $128,000 - $178,000 a year, however, base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. This position is also eligible for an annual performance‑based bonus program. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.

Don’t meet every single requirement? Studies have shown people are less likely to apply to jobs unless they meet every qualification. At Omron, we are dedicated to building an inclusive, authentic workplace, so if you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. We also consider qualified applicants regardless of criminal histories, consistent with legal requirements.
