Job summary

Sedgwick, a leading risk and claims solutions provider, seeks a Product Owner - AI to collaborate with Product Managers and data scientists to translate AI initiatives into actionable backlog items and clear acceptance criteria.

You will partner with ML engineers and MLOps teams to ensure alignment with business outcomes, manage stories, and support validation through UAT and performance monitoring. Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Five years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience in business analysis, requirements definition, or supporting product delivery.
• Experience in claims, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated environments preferred.
• Experience working within agile or hybrid delivery teams preferred.
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or data-driven product initiatives preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Product Managers on backlog refinement and prioritization.
• Define development-ready stories and acceptance criteria from epics/features.
• Execute delegated Product Manager responsibilities when PM capacity is limited.

Product Owner - AI

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partners with Product Managers on backlog refinement and prioritization, including sequencing work based on value, dependencies, and capacity.
• Defines development-ready stories and requirements by breaking down epics and features into user stories, defines acceptance criteria, and documents high-level non-functional requirements.
• Executes delegated Product Manager responsibilities when PM capacity or capability is limited, ensuring continuity of product execution.
• Collaborates with development teams to ensure stories are well understood and aligned with business outcomes.
• Validates solutions aligned to the business units by participating in and supporting User Acceptance Testing to confirm delivered functionality meets defined requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Measures visibility into delivery and outcomes by tracking and reporting to stakeholders to surface risks, dependencies, and performance insights.
• Partners with Data Scientists, ML Engineers, and MLOps teams to translate AI/ML capabilities into backlog items, and defines acceptance criteria that account for model behavior, data dependencies, and performance thresholds.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Raises risks, capacity concerns, and reallocation recommendations to Product Managers.
• Supports sprint ceremonies by clarifying requirements and answering questions during delivery.
• Supports product demos, walkthroughs, and stakeholder communications.
• Serves as a subject matter resource for solution workflows and capabilities.
• Monitors deployed AI features for performance, drift, and user feedback, and works with technical teams to surface retraining or tuning needs as backlog items.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Licensing Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field from an accredited college or university preferred. Equivalent combination of education, professional certifications, and relevant work experience will be considered.

Experience

• Five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Experience performing business analysis, requirements definition, or supporting product delivery required.
• Experience in claims, insurance, healthcare, or other regulated operational environments preferred.
• Experience working within agile or hybrid delivery teams preferred.
• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or data-driven product initiatives preferred.
