Job summary

WoodmenLife is seeking a Product Owner I in Omaha to maximize value by shaping user stories and prioritizing the backlog. The role partners with Product Management, Customers, and Business Owners to ensure alignment with program vision and the Definition of Done.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years in Agile product ownership, strong stakeholder management, and experience with Scrum or Kanban. This hybrid in Omaha position includes a broad benefits package and collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 2+ years of experience as an Agile Product Owner or as an Agile Business Analyst in a product-facing capacity.
• Knowledgeable and experienced with agile user story management, user story elicitation, stakeholder management, and backlog grooming /management, and change management.
• Ability to create meaningful features and user stories that are independent, negotiable, verifiable, estimable, small, and testable (I.N.V.E.S.T standards).
• Solid understanding of Agile practices and principles including how to create user stories aligned with I.N.V.E.S.T and splitting patterns.

Responsibilities

• Drive the execution of the program vision within an agile team.
• Review and contribute to the program roadmap and planning preparations.
• Define and prioritize stories to meet user needs and program priorities.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to plan upgrades and feature releases.
• Act as liaison between development team, stakeholders, and senior leadership for feature definitions.
