Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Product Owner for the DataHub team within the Enterprise Data & Analytics organization. You will translate stakeholder needs into prioritized objectives and drive the delivery of scalable data solutions across Biomedical, Humanitarian, Fundraising, HR, and Finance.

This remote role requires strong communication, SAFe experience, and a proven ability to align business value with technical delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7 years of Product Owner/Product Management experience leading product discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, and delivery within Agile organizations.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence; SAFe experience with PI Planning.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and ability to influence across stakeholders.
  • Experience with enterprise data platforms or regulated domains is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Product Owner for DataHub, translating product strategy into prioritized team objectives.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog with clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead backlog refinement, iteration planning, and SAFe events to align priorities and value.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE JOB:As a Product Owner for the DataHub team at the American Red Cross, you will be part of the Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) organization, helping drive the modernization and transformation of enterprise data and reporting capabilities across multiple business areas, including Biomedical Services, Humanitarian Services, Fundraising, HR, and Finance. DataHub is a strategic enterprise data platform that enables the ingestion, integration, governance, and delivery of trusted data used for reporting, analytics, operational insights, and business decision-making across the organization. The Product Owner serves as the voice of the customer, working closely with business stakeholders, architects, data engineers, and delivery teams to maximize business value and platform adoption. This role requires a natural problem solver with experience in data engineering, data warehousing, analytics platforms, or related technologies. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, collaborative, and able to translate complex business needs into clear priorities and actionable outcomes. Success in this role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to influence across diverse stakeholder groups, and a passion for delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions that advance the American Red Cross mission. The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States but must work an east coast schedule. WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):• Serve as the Product Owner for DataHub, acting as the voice of the customer to the Agile team and translating product strategy into prioritized team objectives. Partner closely with business stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to balance customer needs, business value, technical considerations, and delivery objectives.• Manage and prioritize the product backlog, translating business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery objectives.• Lead backlog refinement and actively participate in iteration planning, PI Planning, sprint reviews, system demonstrations, and other Agile and SAFe events to align the team and stakeholders on priorities, dependencies, expected outcomes, and business value.• Partner with data governance, architecture, security, and engineering stakeholders to incorporate data quality, metadata, lineage, access, privacy, and stewardship requirements into the team backlog.• Collaborate with the delivery team to define acceptance criteria, quality expectations, and release readiness.• Leverage stakeholder feedback, operational metrics, and business need to drive continuous product improvement while communicating product strategy, priorities, risks, progress, and outcomes to technical and non-technical stakeholders.• Balance near-term business value and delivery priorities with the long-term scalability, sustainability, and evolution of the DataHub platform and enterprise data strategy. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++Scope: Individual contributor with comprehensive knowledge in specific area. The American Red Cross does not sponsor employment visas.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (required/minimum qualifications):• Experience: A minimum of 7 years of Product Owner or Product Management experience leading product discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, and delivery within Agile organizations.• Education: 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.• Proven Product Owner or Product Manager experience with proficiency in Agile methodologies, Jira, and Confluence• Demonstrated experience working within a SAFe environment, including PI Planning, backlog prioritization, dependency coordination, and collaboration across Agile teams, is required. We do not offer an annual bonus for this role. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed.
