Anduril Industries is a defense technology company building AI-powered military systems. This Product Operations Engineer role supports the Sentry platform, a deployed robotics system used across Air Defense and Counter-Intrusion missions. You will architect observability, reliability, and field support systems that keep the deployed fleet healthy and drive continuous product improvement.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain deep technical understanding of the Sentry system hardware and software, serving as the product operations subject matter expert across both business lines
- Design, deploy, and continuously improve root cause corrective action (RCCA) systems that capture failures and drive corrective action deployment on fielded systems
- Turn fleet failure data, field feedback, and reliability trends into actionable product improvement signals that inform next-generation hardware and software design
- Develop uptime reporting and observability tooling that measures capability availability and translates raw telemetry into fleet health metrics for stakeholders
- Own, democratize, and continuously improve the Sentry knowledge base, runbooks, SOPs, and self-service troubleshooting resources for field operations teams
- Lead iterative design cycles spanning product operations, engineering, and deployment functions to identify and implement operational improvements
What You Need
- 5+ years of experience in product operations, technical support, site reliability engineering, or comparable technical operations role supporting deployed hardware and software systems
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or relevant technical field, or equivalent hands‑on technical experience (military, industrial, or field support)
- Technical depth in robotics, mechatronics, or complex electromechanical systems with ability to reason across hardware, software, and networking boundaries
- Demonstrated experience driving root cause corrective action to closure on complex systems, including failure capture, classification, and verification
- Experience leading iterative design or improvement cycles across multiple engineering and operations teams
- Proficiency developing monitoring queries, dashboards, and alerting configurations using observability platforms such as Datadog or Grafana
- Experience validating and verifying software changes on distributed or fielded systems, including rollout, verification, and rollback considerations
- Scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash) with track record of building operational efficiency tooling; fluency with Git and Jira
- Demonstrated ability to author clear technical documentation including runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides for technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to coordinate efforts across product, engineering, deployment, and sustainment functions; proven ability to work independently and deliver without close direction
- Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
Nice to Have
- Prior military or government agency exposure or experience
- Familiarity with reliability and quality methodologies such as FRACAS, FMEA, or equivalent structured failure analysis practice
- Experience with Linux system administration and command‑line troubleshooting of electromechanical or networked systems
- Experience supporting autonomous sensor systems, counter‑UAS systems, and/or complex robotics systems
- Experience building or owning a technical knowledge base, documentation system, or self‑service support resources
- Exposure to Anduril's Lattice OS or similar command‑and‑control software platforms
- Experience operating in limited risk tolerance production environments with on‑call responsibilities
- Willingness to work non‑standard hours and weekends when operational needs require
