About Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology

Technology is at the heart of Disney's past, present, and future. Disney Entertainment and ESPN Product & Technology (DEEP&T) is a global organization of engineers, product managers, designers, technologists, data scientists, and more – all working to build and advance the technological backbone for Disney's media business globally.

The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company's media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.

Here are a few reasons why we think you'd love working here:

  • Building the future of Disney's media: Our Technologists are designing and building the products and platforms that will power our media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come.
  • Reach, Scale & Impact: More than ever, Disney's technology and products serve as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company's brands and stories. Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ABC. ABC News…and many more. These products and brands – and the unmatched stories, storytellers, and events they carry – matter to millions of people globally.
  • Innovation: We develop and implement groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms, and solve complex and distinctive technical problems.

Ads & Data Alliance sits within DEEP&T and provides the core data and monetization product functions that power Disney's media businesses – including subscriber data, advertising, and the infrastructure that connects them. The team is responsible for the data products, pipelines, and platforms that enable commerce, growth, and decision‑making across Disney+, Hulu, and the broader DTC portfolio.

About The Role

The Subscriber Data Product team builds the core data products that power Disney+ commerce growth, monetization, and decision support for our analytics and business teams. As a Product Manager II (P2), you will own a defined product area within this ecosystem and drive it from discovery through launch. You will grow your product intuition through hands‑on delivery, partnering closely with engineering, data, analytics, and operations teams to turn business needs into clear, executable product requirements.

The team's current priorities include:

  • Infrastructure simplification for cost efficiency and resilience
  • Reliability and scale of subscriber data pipelines
  • Self‑service data access and standardization for internal stakeholders

You will gain on‑the‑job experience across these pillars that you'll be expected to leverage to continuously sharpen your product craft and grow the impact of the features and capabilities you own.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execution & Delivery: Own a defined product area and drive delivery from discovery through launch, including requirements, prioritization, and execution follow‑through.
  • Cross‑Functional Partnership: Partner with engineering, data, analytics, and operations to translate business needs into clear product requirements and measurable outcomes.
  • Data‑Informed Decision Making: Use data to identify opportunities, monitor performance, and recommend product improvements based on impact, feasibility, and effort.
  • Roadmap & Risk Management: Support roadmap planning by breaking larger initiatives into scoped milestones, surfacing risks early, and tracking dependencies across teams.
  • Product Documentation: Create clear product artifacts (PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, launch docs) that align stakeholders and enable high‑quality execution.
  • Operational Excellence: Contribute to operational excellence by helping define product health metrics, incident follow‑ups, and continuous process improvements.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 3+ years of product management experience, or relevant experience in data platforms or analytics‑heavy roles.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Math, Science, Economics), or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical Aptitude and Curiosity: Foundational understanding of Big Data ecosystems and SQL; ability to engage in technical discussions and understand data flow patterns.
  • Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to break down work into MVPs and subsequent iterations, following established guidelines and procedures, with growing independence on trade‑off decisions.
  • Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to summarize complex data situations for diverse audiences and manage day‑to‑day stakeholder interactions independently.
  • Execution: Track record of managing backlogs, prioritizing tasks, and consistently hitting delivery goals for a defined set of features.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry Knowledge: Experience or familiarity with subscription, commerce, or identity data (e.g., billing, entitlements, customer lifecycle data).
  • Tools: Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker) and exposure to data management technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow).
  • Agile Methodology: Experience working within Agile or Scrum frameworks, managing backlogs in Jira, and participating in sprint ceremonies.
  • Media/DTC Familiarity: Exposure to direct‑to‑consumer streaming or media businesses and their subscriber/monetization data needs.
