Job summary

Yaskawa America, Inc. seeks a Product/Manufacturing/Quality Engineer B to join its Buffalo Grove, IL manufacturing team. You will troubleshoot failures, perform root-cause analyses, and define corrective actions to ensure product quality and production readiness.

Responsibilities include directing new product launches from design to volume production, maintaining master data, and coordinating supplier audits while partnering with design and production to improve processes and reduce costs.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's or foreign degree equivalent in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Requires three years of experience in engineering manufacturing.
• Experience performing root cause analyses and drafting corrective action reports; planning and scheduling documentation; material needs; product data management; reading drawings and schematics; conforming to ISTA packaging standards.
• Domestic travel required up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analyses of failures and create corrective action plans for quality issues.
• Inspect, segregate, and modify components or finished goods inventory.
• Analyze products and advise on authorization or restriction for production or sale.
• Evaluate impact of suspended product decisions on production and customer requirements.
• Plan and ensure implementation of new products from design phase to volume production.
• Create and ensure project launch schedules.
• Coordinate regular launch status meetings.
• Prepare and control all product related master data.
• Create manufacturing work instructions and implement line balancing.
• Advise the design team regarding manufacturability.
• Train employees and coordinate prototypes.
• Respond to requests for customer specified product and develop production procedures.
• Establish customer promise dates and maintain quality processes.
• Analyze quality data and trends; create reports for customers and internal use.
• Interface with customers to determine root causes of product failures and communicate corrective actions.
