Job summary

Pratt & Whitney, a RTX company, is recruiting a Product Manufacturing Engineer to lead Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) work for legacy military engine programs. This onsite role collaborates with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to advance MRL elements across parts and families.

You will integrate with IPTs, drive producibility, perform PFMEA, yield/cost analyses, and support source selection with manufacturability considerations. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (manufacturing, industrial, mechanical) or related technical field and 7 years of experience in a manufacturing operations environment.
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred; CORE/Six Sigma Practitioner/professional certification.
• Understanding of continuous improvement concepts: DFSS, Red-X, Lean, etc.
• Proficiency in statistics, data analytics, DOE, and multivariate statistics.

Responsibilities

• Lead MRL execution on critical parts and drive manufacturability into the design process.
• Refine and improve MRL standard work for early phase programs.

Core Manufacturing Engineering in the Operational Excellence organization is hiring a Product Manufacturing Engineer to lead Manufacturing Readiness Level (MRL) elements in support manufacturing readiness for Pratt & Whitney’s Legacy Military Engine Programs.

The Product Manufacturing Engineer will be integrated with the Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams and will act as the liaison between engineering, program, and operations. They will lead a specific part or part family MRL advancement through the execution of MRL elements such as Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA), yield & cost curves, and Analysis of Alternatives (AoA) trade tools to identifying and mitigating manufacturing and operational risk. The scope of this role will include both Pratt & Whitney internal shop and supply chain components.

What You Will Do:

The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in a high technology, advanced program environment incorporating the latest manufacturing readiness assessment tools. The Product Manufacturing Engineer will be an experienced, proactive, and goal oriented professional to lead MRL execution on critical parts. This resource will have a key role in refining and improving MRL standard work as it applies to early phase programs. With specific parts ownership, this role will drive producibility into the design process, ensure source selection includes considerations for manufacturing such as, quality, cost and delivery performance Leverage the lessons learned from production programs to ensure that assigned parts and programs are incorporating those to help with improved quality, cost and delivery signatures Provide focused & effective leadership in the advancement of MRL elements to drive manufacturing risk identification and mitigation to achieve superior quality performance As a key member of the Integrated Product Team (IPT), significant interaction with product designers, tool designers, quality assurance, systems designers, and other stakeholders is required The discipline and follow-through to fully document problem statements, observations, conclusions, calculations and recommendations Schedule and facilitate periodic project reviews and ensure validation of MRL gate advancements. Use effective scorecards and metrics to ensure progress. Represent the organization in various forums related to MRL execution. Travel up to 10%.

The salary range for this role is 107,500 USD - 204,500 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
