Arthrex, Inc. is seeking a Product Manager for Vet Systems to lead a portfolio including biologics and orthopedics. Build relationships with surgeons, veterinarians, and internal teams to drive new product innovations and manage existing lines.

The role is based in Naples, FL, with some travel required and no remote work. Bachelor’s degree and 5 years in orthopedics or veterinary product management/sales are required, with strong public speaking skills and cross-functional collaboration

Responsibilities

  • Participates in overall product strategy, R&D requirements, development coordination for vet products.
  • Coordinates product development, estimates profits, and release to production for orthobiologic and vet systems.
  • Defines objectives and delegates to the project team (engineering, manufacturing, procurement, marketing, quality).
  • Directs activities of the project team to keep projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Performs market analysis and develops product strategy and R&D plans.
  • Trains surgeons, veterinarians, and sales reps; collaborates with cross-functional teams to define product requirements.
  • Provides pricing and market strategy input and manages product lifecycle from introduction to phase-out.

Product Manager, Vet Systems

Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education within the orthopedic field. We are actively searching for a Product Manager to manage and lead our initiatives within the Veterinary Systems portfolio. Within this role, you will help create and manage a portfolio of Veterinary solutions for the most exciting company in medical device. In so doing, you will partner with a cross-functional team of surgeons and Arthrex employees to provide products which enable surgeons to treat their patients better.

The successful candidate will build relationships with key customers and internal departments to help drive new product innovation and manage existing product lines. Main Objective

Plans, organizes, and controls assigned vet product lines including biologics and/or orthopedics from conceptual stages through product life cycles to optimize profit and meet marketing, financial, and corporate growth objectives by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participates in overall product strategy, research and development requirements, development, and manufacturing coordination for new and emerging products.
  • Coordinates technical product development, estimates of potential profits, and release to production specific to the orthobiologic and vet systems family of products and procedures.
  • Establishes operational and project objectives and assignments and delegates assignments to project team.
  • Directs and coordinates the activities of project team personnel (engineering, manufacturing, procurement, marketing and quality) to ensure projects progress on schedule and within prescribed budget.
  • Performs market analysis, product strategy and research and development.
  • Conducts surgeon, veterinarian, and sales rep product and procedure training. Collaborates with a wide variety of functional areas such as sales, engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and operations to develop and provide product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
  • Produce competitive analysis materials comparing product with its key competitors. Establish and maintain relationships with key surgeons and veterinarians.
  • Provides technical expertise and training to other departments in support of product development.
  • Identifies market potential, establishes pricing and market strategies, estimates potential sales, introduces market, distribution/channel issues, and manages mature product through phase-out.
  • Manages the development stage of the product life cycle.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all customer requirements are met including the monitoring of test reports, documentation of instructions, etc.
  • Defines promotional activities, publicizing the product through the press, sales force, and alternate distribution channels.
  • Required Travel up to 30%
  • In-office, Naples FL-based position; not remote
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 years of Product Management and/or Project Management and/or sales in the field of orthopedics or veterinary required.
  • Marketing concentration a plus.
  • A combination of both medical device sales and marketing/product management experience or clinical experience.
  • Excellent Public speaking and presentation skills are required.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training
  • Knowledge of surgical orthopedics, veterinary surgery and/or arthroscopy preferred.
  • Skilled in working with different functions and effectively coordinates their activities to achieve desired results.
  • Excellent listening skills, including the ability to identify and isolate customers concerns or objections, in addition to excellent written and oral communication skills.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills
  • PC, MS office and various and specialized software.
  • Must develop and maintain proficiency with the use of orthopedic hand and power tools, arthroscopy equipment, surgical hand instrumentation, centrifuges, and veterinary surgical equipment.
