Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Strategy, ideation and research to support project portfolio.
  • Understand and support the vision for the project portfolio across all client segments.
  • Act as thought leader to stay ahead of trends, regulatory guidelines and forces shaping the industry, and corresponding technology.
  • Manage the new idea intake process for internal stakeholders, acting as one of the primary points of contact.
  • Support the exploration of ideas by applying relevant market research and customer feedback.
  • Contribute to the creation of north star experiences and identification of key differentiators that align with product strategy.
  • Support the development of business cases and other product artifacts for approval, including drafting of epic hypothesis statements.
  • Work closely with the Product Analysis team and SMEs to understand impacts to systems, high-level requirements and development costs.
  • Support ongoing management of the portfolio roadmap and annual planning activities.
  • Prepare reporting and regular updates for leadership.
  • Support internal and external rollout of features and messaging that aligns with market messaging and product strategy.
  • Create / maintain Product definition documents and ensure updates are aligned with product deployments.

Job description

As a member of the Product Transformation and Strategy team, this role is responsible for supporting the development and continuous improvement of the services and features offered by Manulife John Hancock Retirement, with a particular focus on research, ideation, communication and launches.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Strategy, ideation and research
  • Understand and support the vision for the project portfolio across all client segments
  • Act in a thought leadership capacity to stay ahead of trends, regulatory guidelines and forces shaping the industry, and corresponding technology
  • Manage the new idea intake process for internal stakeholders, acting as one of the primary points of contact

Business case creation, commercials and other artifacts
  • Support the development of business cases and other product artifacts for approval, including the drafting of epic hypothesis statements to support analysis and exploration
  • Work closely with the Product Analysis team and SMEs, as needed, to understand impacts to systems, high-level requirements and development costs
Portfolio roadmap management
  • Support the ongoing management of the portfolio roadmap and annual planning activities
  • Prepare reporting and regular updates for leadership
Product Communications and activation
  • Support, as needed, the internal and external rollout of features/capabilities and execution of communication strategy and messaging that aligns with market messaging, product strategy, and differentiation
  • Support, as needed, the creation / ongoing maintenance of Product definition documents (including new and existing product catalog, definition documents, etc.), ensuring updates are made in alignment with product deployments
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree; 5+ years of experience in the retirement industry

Salary range is expected to be between

$92,475.00 USD - $160,290.00 USD

Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
