Job description

Wingz is a rideshare platform focused on Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT). Our network of compassionate, credentialed drivers helps vulnerable populations gain access to the care they need.

About The Role

You'll own the details of our most important product work and drive it to a finished, working release.

We're hiring for skill and judgment, not years. Junior and senior candidates are both welcome.

Today our CEO leads Product. He'll keep setting the high-level direction. You'll own everything after that: the problem, the specs, the prototypes, the screens, the words, and making sure what ships is right.

You'll start as a hands-on individual contributor, working on our most strategic projects. As you prove yourself, there's room to grow into leading Product.

Part of our engineering team works Asia hours, so expect a few early mornings or late evenings each week to overlap with them.

What You'll Do
  • Prototype/Build. Build prototypes and deploy code yourself leveraging AI agents. Work closely with our lead mobile engineer, but don't wait on anyone to get an idea into a working form.
  • Write specs both human engineers and AI agents can build from. Clear, complete, with the key details and edge cases covered.
  • Own the details. The flow of every screen and every word on it. Copy and UI/UX (how screens look, flow, and feel to use) are yours.
  • Drive it to done. Stay with a feature until it's live and working. Check the build against the spec before release. Hold the release if key details are missing, even if engineering says it's finished.
What You'll Need
  • Taste. You know what great looks like and can explain why. You notice the small things that make a product feel right or wrong.
  • Strong opinions. You say what you think, clearly, and change your mind when shown something better.
  • User empathy. You care about the people using what you build, whoever they are.
  • First-principles thinking. You ask what problem we're solving and what job the user needs done before you pick a solution.
  • Follow-through. You finish things. You've shipped products people use, and you can tell us how you made sure they worked.
  • Technical depth. You can read and write code, talk architecture with engineers, and pull your own data with SQL (the query language for databases). You build working prototypes and ship code with AI coding agents, including for mobile.
Bonus Points
  • You've worked as a software engineer.
  • You've built healthcare software.
  • You live in a state where Wingz operates.
Why Wingz?
  • Mission-driven work that makes a tangible difference in people's lives.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
