Job summary

NEC Software Solutions is seeking a Product Manager to shape and deliver innovative NEC Housing products for the Social Housing sector. You will own areas like Rents, Service Charges, Allocations, and the Housing Mobile App, guiding cross-functional teams through workshops, user groups, and stakeholder reviews.

You will conduct market research, define customer needs, and create wireframes and user stories for new features, whilst collaborating with development, QA and technical writers.

Qualifications

• Experience in UK Social Housing, either as a customer or software solution provider.
• Strong knowledge of project life cycle, methodologies, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Experience defining product enhancements, UI/UX design, and Agile new product development.
• Experience with housing management systems or related software.
• Experience working with Housing system modules Rents, Service Charges, Allocations, or Mobile alternatives.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

• You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering innovative products for the Social Housing sector covering areas such as Rents, Service Charges, the Allocations process, along with our Housing Mobile App. We’re looking for passionate individuals to join a dynamic team that’s focused on exceeding customer expectations, maximising intellectual property, and driving transformation across the sector. From market assessment through to requirements decomposition, build support, and final test verification, you’ll ensure the NEC Housing platform empowers customers to meet the challenges they face. Conduct market research to understand legislative, regulatory, competitive, and economic trends, as well as evolving market drivers. Become the subject matter expert in your product area, providing guidance to customers and internal stakeholders. Collaborate with customers through co-design workshops, user groups, and meetings to capture insights and shape requirements. Define customer business needs and objectives to ensure NEC Housing products meet or exceed expectations. Create requirements, user stories, and wireframes for new developments, working closely with development and QA teams to deliver solutions that achieve customer outcomes. Partner with Technical Authors to produce and review product documentation. Build business cases including market uptake, pricing, and margin analysis. Identify and manage any third-party requirements, liaising with suppliers and integrators as needed. Define and maintain the roadmap for your product area(s). Support Pre-Sales and Sales teams with bid responses, proposals, and quotations. Deliver presentations to internal and external audiences. Contribute to product launch activities. • Full, valid UK/EC driving licence for travel.
• Proven ability to build relationships and understand client perspectives.
• Effective time management and resource allocation.
• Strong decision-making skills.
• Experience in end-to-end product life cycle management.
• Experience designing digital solutions for the social housing sector, including mobile apps and web platforms.
• Proficiency in tools such as Figma and JIRA.
• Working knowledge of NEC Housing.
