Job summary

Lyft in New York, NY seeks a strategic Product Manager for its Driver team. You will own product vision, roadmaps, and cross-functional execution with engineers, data scientists, and designers to improve driver behavior, experience, and growth.

We value empathetic leaders who balance user needs with marketplace dynamics, make data-driven decisions, and communicate clearly across stakeholders. This hybrid role requires in-office presence three days a week in NYC.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years in product management, product design or equivalent consultant experience with leading consumer facing products.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies with metrics-driven decisions.
  • Customer-obsessed mindset with strong user empathy and discovery experience.
  • Strong decision making and communication across org levels.

Responsibilities

  • Deeply understand driver and business needs to set an ambitious product vision that motivates and inspires your team, peers and leadership.
  • Set your team's goals and success metrics that align with Lyft's mission and drive maximum impact based on data analysis, market research and user research.
  • Build a product roadmap to achieve your goals and lead a core team of engineers, designers, data scientists, and marketers to execute on it.
  • Build alignment and collaborate with partner teams on shared goals and initiatives.
  • Communicate roadmaps, priorities, experiments and decisions across a broad set of audiences from partner teams to executive levels.
  • Completely own your team's products, existing or new, from ideation, through development, to launch, growth and maintenance.

The Driver team is dedicated to fostering a platform of high-quality service by empowering drivers to perform their best. We are looking for a strategic, quality-focused product manager to join our dynamic and fast-paced team. In this role, you will develop systems and clear, thoughtful communications that help drivers understand their driving behavior, recognize opportunities for improvement, and feel supported in reaching their full potential. The ideal candidate will demonstrate high empathy, a strong analytical mindset, and a collaborative spirit, working effectively across Lyft to create experiences that reinforce our commitment to quality, transparency, and fairness in alignment with our brand values.

Experience:
  • 3+ years in product management, product design or equivalent consultant experience with significant time spent leading consumer facing products
  • Ability to make things happen: You manage project ambiguity, complexity, and interdependencies in an organized and structured way, and you are able to define and analyze metrics that inform the success of your products
  • Customer obsessed: Strong user empathy and experience in the customer discovery and product development process
  • Strong decision making: Experience building alignment and influencing decision making across org lines and with senior leadership; specifically showcasing strong judgment when balancing a flawless user experience and the needs of a two sided marketplace
  • Strong communication: Skills and intuition for communication strategy at every level -- within teams, within the company, to users, and other audiences
  • Detail oriented: Balancing multiple projects, deadlines, and requests should be second nature to you

The expected base pay range for this position in the New York City area is $148,000 - $185,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
