Job summary

Anthropic is hiring a Product Manager for the Safeguards team to lead ideation, design, development and deployment of safeguards systems and related UX across Claude.ai, 1P API and cloud surfaces. You will collaborate with research and product teams to develop detections, evals, interventions and tooling for safer deployment.

The role requires deep technical product experience, strong communication skills and a proven ability to navigate complex regulatory and technical tradeoffs in a rapidly

Qualifications

• Must have technical tradeoff experience with policy experts, AI/ML engineers and software teams.
• Strong understanding of product and engineering strategy across cross-functional teams.
• Experience designing metrics to evaluate risks, performance and impact.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Ability to operate in a rapidly changing space with crisp decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Determine safety-by-design upstream and leverage defenses for frontier models and AI products.
• Write safety evals and communicate externally about safety.
• Drive impact via ruthless prioritization with clear requirements for MVP vs. ideal state.
• Align with policy, enforcement, research, engineering and stakeholders.
• Lead development of metrics to understand performance and inform planning.
