Retool Inc. seeks a platform-focused Product Manager to define and evolve infrastructure capabilities for enterprise AI-powered software and agents. You will partner with engineering on deployment, observability, and data connectivity while shaping API, IaC, and MCP surfaces for customers.
You will guide roadmap decisions, balance tradeoffs, and work with enterprise customers to turn recurring needs into scalable platform capabilities, building a product that scales with customer complexity.
Nearly every company in the world runs on custom software for critical operations like tracking performance metrics, handling support workflows, building admin dashboards, and countless processes you might never have thought of. But most companies don't have the resources to properly invest in these tools, leading to a lot of old, clunky internal software, or worse, teams still stuck in manual and spreadsheet workflows. AI has changed who gets to build software. The definition of "developer" now includes analysts, operators, and domain experts creating solutions directly—and the tools they reach for are multiplying by the week. That's both an opportunity and a challenge: as more people build with more AI tools, the risk of shipping ungoverned software into production grows just as fast. At Retool, we're building the platform that makes all of it safe to ship. Build with any AI tool you want, then deploy into one place that connects to your real business data, enforces enterprise policies automatically, and lets teams create once and reuse everywhere with shared, trusted components. The cost of building software has collapsed. The cost of governing it hasn't—and that's the problem we solve. Developers and domain experts have already automated over 100 million hours of work on our platform, freeing them to focus on creative problem-solving and strategic work that drives real business value. The people closest to the problem can now build the software to solve it, safely, and within enterprise guardrails. Let's build the future together.
Retool is becoming the platform enterprises use to build and run not only apps and automations, but AI agents that can reason, act, and operate against real business systems. Helping teams create this software is only half the problem. Enterprises also need a dependable way to deploy, manage, observe, secure, and scale it across complex environments. We’re looking for a Product Manager to define that platform. You’ll focus on the infrastructure and operational capabilities that let enterprises run Retool confidently at scale. This includes deployment infrastructure, observability, admin tooling, access controls, audit logging, and programmatic management through APIs, infrastructure as code, and MCP. AI agents introduce a new class of platform problems. Their workloads can be longer-running, more dynamic, and less predictable than conventional applications. They also create new requirements around isolation, reliability, resource consumption, failure recovery, and administrative control. You’ll help determine how Retool’s platform should evolve to meet those requirements. This is a platform product role, not a forward-deployed role. You’ll work closely with sophisticated customers to understand their environments, then turn recurring needs into durable capabilities that work across Retool’s customer base. You’ll partner directly with engineering on technical and architectural tradeoffs and lead focused projects from discovery through launch and adoption. You’ll join a small, experienced team that values clear thinking, speed, and direct communication, at a company where product is a core driver of how the business grows.
Your goal is to make Retool the easiest platform for enterprises to deploy, operate, and scale AI-powered software and agents securely and reliably. You’ll work across problems like:
Day to day, you’ll:
Prior AI product-management experience is helpful, but not required. We’re equally interested in experienced infrastructure and developer-platform PMs who want to apply that depth to the emerging problems created by enterprise AI.
